Ryka shoe sizing question

I generally wear a size 5.5 in shoes but am wearing a 5 nike sneaker comfortably. I am thinking of buying some Ryka shoes on ebay and am not sure which size to get the 5 or 5.5. The person selling them said they tend to run small so the 5.5 should be the ones. Do you guys think they tend to run small?
 
I always buy true to size in Ryka, I've ordered them often and never had a problem. I hope it works for you, I love my Rykas!
 
I have three pairs of Rykas and love all of them! I wear a size 6 in heels, and I go up to 6 1/2 in Rykas to accomodate nice thick socks!

I guess I am not going to make this any easier for you. I bought aerobic shoes by Ryka/ETS and I had to go one full size up from my normal size. The magazine I purchased it from also recommended that I do that. The shoes fit perfectly.

I ordered my regular size in Rykas and they fit perfectly, but I wear thin socks. I'd go up 1/2 to l full size if you like thick socks.
 
I would go up at minimum a 1/2 size if not a whole size. One pair of Ryka's I have (which I hate) is 1/2 size larger should be.

I love the Stylus but hate the Supra. My Supra has no front support and a super wide forefront. The shoe is shorter from front to back than the Stylus??? I got it at RoadRunner sports and am going to send it back. However, now since I wore it they said they might not give me a refund even though I only ordered it once. Also, one of the shoes fits different than the other??? hmmmm... never had that problem before.

I probably will not buy my next pair of shoes online again:)
 
The shoes I am considering are Ryka Alchemy aerobic shoes. I guess with all the mixed messages I am going to pass on these since there is a no return policy with the ebay seller. He suggested getting the 5.5 and if I wanted a little more room go with a 6. I just can't take the risk.

Hi Beth! I know I will confuse you even more! I have always ordered my Ryka's a 1/2 size larger. Once, I ordered a full size larger as the catalogue said to order one size up and it fit fine. Usually, ads for their shoes will tell you whether to order up or not. Not sure if this would apply to E-bay though. Good Luck. I love my Ryka's!

Chiming in a little late here, but I normally wear a 6.5 and had to get a 7 in my Rykas. Sounds like they are pretty consistently running small for folks.

I love them, though! They sure give me more stability than my old, completely worn out Reeboks.
 
Can I just add to the confusion? I have Ryka running shoes and Ryka aerobic shoes, both in the same size, but the running shoes run larger. I have no idea what that's about. They both fit, but differently. Like Pam said, the forefoot is roomy, and I like the smaller heel. I also order a half size larger than normal. Go to Lady Foot Locker and try them on, then you can order online.

Hi Beth! I have a pair of Ryka Alchemy 3s that I purchased on Ebay. I normally wear a 5.5 but bought a size 6 which fits very well with regular or thicker socks. I think these are the most wonderful shoes! They take a short time to break in as far as doing step aerobics, but will ultimately become your favorites. Good luck with your purchase!

Well, I tried on a few Rykas at the mall this weekend. Looks like they no longer make 5.5s The sales gals told me they run small, but I'm not sure where she got that info. because the 6s were swimming on me. So I just ordered the 5.5 from a seller on ebay. I don't think I will have any problems with them fitting my wee feet.

I just got my Rykas in the mail today and the 5.5s fit me perfectly! I didn't realize that this style covesr the ankle so I will have to get use to that, but I think that will be great support for cardio workouts! Can't wait to do the workouts. It was so funny, I did a mad dash home after work so my fiance wouldn't find the package. We're trying to watch what we spend but you know how hard it is not to shop and I needed a new pair of sneakers anyway. :)

Glad your Rykas fit!

I have walking style Rykas that are my true size, X-Training Rykas that are true size, and I have Studio style Rykas that are one size larger than normal.

Go figure!
 
Yes, I did go to the shoe store and tried on about 3 different size 6 Rykas since they do not make 5.5s in these styles and all were swimming on my tiny feet. This led me to believe that a 5.5 would be fine and it was.

I did a little search for some size 5.5 Rykas. I went to QVC and typed in Ryka. It showed results for both QVC and Ready, Set, Sports. Under Ready, Set, Sports I saw the V2 in size 5.5 for a pretty good price, I think it was $39. I had the original, which was the Veritas, which are my all time favorite shoes. They may have others as well. Good luck, and I hope this was helpful!
