Ryka Rhythm, Stylus and Enlight

Dear all:

Do any of you have either the Ryka Rhythm, the Ryka Stylus or the Ryka Enlight aerobic shoe?

How do you rate it?

How does it compare to your previous athletic shoe?

Do you have particluar conditions (such as dodgy knees, arch problems) that persuaded you to make this purchase and has it helped?

I am in need of a new Ryka and I am favouring the Rhythm, but wanted to see what you guys thought of all three of these. Any stories, experiences to share before I buy?

Edited to add: did you find it ran smaller or larger than usual size-wise?

Thanks all!

Clare :)

I just got a pair of Rhythm's last week. I love them. I have worn 2 other models of Ryka, Stylus and Cirrus. The Rhythm's run the same as Ryka's usual sizing (buy a 1/2 size larger for the most part), but the toe box just seems roomier in these than my other two pair. Which is a good thing, the others were a wee bit too tight, but a larger size shoe would have been too big overall. I keep the old pair for going outside to get the mail or wearing around the house and the newest pair for workouts only, so I was able to comapre all 3 pairs before I tossed the oldest pair. The Rhythm's are not as "clunky" - not as much rubber molding around the base of the shoes, but still have the same support you'd expect from Ryka.

I prefer Ryka's aerobic shoes because I need the extra ankle support, and the Rhythm's have the around the ankle lacing system, so I can tighten them up as needed.

I've worked out on these for a week and haven't noticed any performance difference. Of course, I've got that "I've got new shoes, so I can leap tall buildings" feeling going on, but overall, I like them and wasn't disappointed.

Thanks and yes, it does help. I have worn the Cirrus for several years now, of course that model is unattainable now and the Rhythm seems to be the best out there for cushioning in the Ryka range. It's good to hear that you like it, and there's nothing wrong with leaping tall buildings!!!

Do you mind telling me where you got your pair of Rhythms from? I've been searching online and I can only find one place that carries my size.

Thanks,

Clare

Alas, I actually got them on eBay. Just happened to find an auction in the right style and size. I need a 6.5 and they're easierfor me to find in online stores, but not on eBay. I'd been watching the auctions for a while, though and happened to hit it just right.

Hope you can find a pair in the right size for the right price!

I have the Stylus and they're very light and comfortable. Very cushioned and supportive too. They are 6.5 and I usually wear a 6.

Ladies:

thanks for your help. I spent hours yesterday wading through web sites looking for the Rhythm, maostly only available in black on most sites and had nearly given up, when I strolled into my local running equipment store and they had my perfect shoe in the right size and for less than any website quoted me!

Perfect ending. Of course, my husband doesn't see why I need a new pair.......because you can't "see" that the cushioning no longer cushions!

Hi Clare!

I just tell my DH that the 'old' pair are giving me 'headaches', no problems getting new shoes whenever I want ;)
