RYKA New Studio Mid Shoe???

Hi Jen,

I have the Avia 681 and I just bought my 4th pair from onlineshoes.com in black. I really like them. I tried the Rykas N-Gage and they were too high for me - sent them back immediately. I don't know anything about the other Rykas. The Avia 681's are perfect for me - comfy, good support. I teach 5 classes per week plus do my own cardio in them. They are true to size too.

A friend in fitness,
Shirl

Hey Cathy & Shirl- Thank you very much!

Shirl- I think I am going to get the 681 from aviadirect - they look perfect height for me and with you confirming they are comfy and good support I will be getting them... I am very curious about this new Ryka too though. Activa is the only place I can find them- it was in the catalog they sent me last week but the website was just updated to show them, couldn't find them for a week and even ryka's direct on-line store doesn't have them... which I find strange. They do look like about the same height of the avia's though-- thinking about ordering them also to just see, wish I could find a place w/ free shipping though!

Thanks again! :)

Hello, Jen! :)

My favorite step shoe is the Ryka Enlight II (they are not as high as the instructor version)...the ones that Cathe wore in her last set of videos. They are super comfy. I actually order more than one pair at a time for fear I won't find them again...you never know when these companies will suddenly stop production on products. The only place I can find them now is on eBay...I usually buy from Walking Sue...she is great and ships right away, never any problems. Here is a link to the shoes for sale by walkingsue. She is very reputable, I hightly recommend her. I hope you find the perfect shoe too.

Also, The Ryka N-Gage Studio is a fabulous shoe as well...check them out too.

The Ryka shoe you have linked is probably just as wonderful...and maybe better than the Enlight II, but they certainly have a different look to them.

The Avia shoe looks and sounds like a very good step shoe, IMO. :)

Hey Denise- Thanks for the information... why oh why does finding shoes have to be SO hard??? I had ordered the instructor Ryka's from zappos but they were too high for me- is the studio one different? It looks the same as the instructor???

I agree though about the new Ryka- they look pretty long in the toe area, strange almost but I guess you never can tell until you get them unfortunately!

Well I guess I'll ponder this today and order tonight! :) Thanks again Denise! :)

Hello, Jen!!!

I don't have my Ryka Instructors anymore, but I am almost certain that they were about a solid inch higher than the Enlights. Also, I found the Instructor version to be a little more rigid and less flexible than the Enlight version.

If you do try the Avias please let us know how you like them... It is great to have a backup plan for the future. :D :D :D

xoxo, Denise :)

Darn you, Denise! ;) I just purchased new Ryka Enlight II's from Walking Sue! God, my checking account is suffering these days....

But I can't wait to get them!!! Thanks for the info!!

Hi all,

I ordered the N-Gage Studio from Walking Sue on Ebay, too, and she had great customer service and fast shipping. The shoes took me a few days to get used to since I haven't had ankle support for awhile, but I really like them now -- especially when doing any sort of jumping lateral moves.

Sorry Allison! ;)

I fell victim also. I am starting to notice signs of deterioration in my current pair and I only have one more backup pair, so I just HAD to order 2 more pairs!!! So, there will be 4 pairs of Enlight IIs in my exercise room...people will think I am crazeeey!

:p :p :p :p :p Possibly! :p :p :p :p :p

I've had several pairs of Avias and was really surprised at how much I liked them! As I'm sure with other shoes it is trial and error, but the ones I've bought were super cheap (maybe $30 or so?) and I think I got them at Kohls or someplace like that.

I have wide feet and do a lot of high impact, so normally I get Ryka's because they have good cushioning and fit nicely. However, I've found the Avia's to be just as good!

I know everyone here loves their Rykas, but Avias are a great second option!
