Ryka N-Gage Trainer?

Hi:

I have a pair of N-Gage Instructor that I bought about 6 months ago. I think I need something new. I have no extra money, but hopefully I can pester one of my relatives for the holidays. ;-) I just checked zappos.com and saw N-Gage Trainer. I don't recall noticing these before. I remember Studio, but not these. Does anyone know if they're new? Anyone tried them and can advise on how they are with Cathe workouts?

Here's the link:

I am a relative newcomer to fitness sneakers and would appreciate any advice.

Hi Christine:

I have these in Glacier. They are a little long for me, I prefer my N-Gage Studio Mids for aerobics. I put some Dr. Scholl's inserts in my Trainers and they fit fine now.

They are low on the ankles compared to the Studio Mids so they will have a lot less ankle support than your Instructors. They have less space in the toe box than the Instructors, but the material makes it more flexible.

They have less support for squatting and lunging due to the low ankle height, but they are comfortable. They are also light with pretty good bounce.

I bought mine from Shoes.com with a 15% discount code: MCNOVSAVE.

I ordered a pair of these in Glacier also, directly from Ryka when they had the free shipping going on. I absolutely love them!

Thanks you two for the responses. I will take these points into consideration. I think I may possibly want more ankle support. My floor is concrete. I probably destroyed my sneakers early on because I didn't know enough to put mats down. Now I have two layers of Ironman aerobic flooring and it works wonderfully, but I'm still babying my joints, so the cushioning is definitely a factor. I'll ponder on this a bit more. I have time until I'll manage to get something new. :)

Thanks, Edie. I can't afford them right yet but just mentioning shoes.com and 15% is a big help--I paid $78.95 for the Instructors at zappos.com. Hadn't heard of shoes.com, so I'm happy with any discount! :)

Hi Christine!

For a GREAT deal on Rykas, go to ebay and type in Ryka and your shoe size (like Ryka 6.5), and all the great deals on Rykas will be listed. Look for Walkingsue7. She has some Rykas Mid Studios (last season) up for bid at $29.95. I think her Instructors are about $54.95. Edie

i love, love, love my ryka instructors! i had lower ones before (can't rememeber the style name) and the higher ankle support of the instructors really makes a difference!
