Jes--how high do they come up? Do they completely cover your ankle? I looked at those but decided to go with the XT's because I usually like a lower profile.

THANK you for this post! I am procrastinating spending the $$$ on them but am now ready to take the plunge! I have a major "pinkie" toe issue on one foot and all my RYKAs really irritate it bur they are the best for cushioning... urg... one more try for RYKA I guess!

Ok, so do you actually get a lot more support from the higher shoe? I have some issues with my ankle so have been thinking about getting these. But then I wonder, are they uncomfortable? Do you feel like you are wearing basketball shoes???

Jes, I have to agreee with you...the Engage Studios ROCK!!!

Marie, it does not feel like you are wearing basketball shoes. One of my concerns was that they were going to be heavy and clunky (can't think of a better word), but they are really comfortable and light.

I contemplated over ordering them given the cost. Then one day I was at a local store (BOB's Store in MA) and they had a pair in my size on clearance for $30.00. They also had the Engage XT's for $30 and they are an awesome circuit sneaker. The strap across the foot makes a huge difference.

I agree with Jes that these shoes rock! I purchased them because I have a weak right ankle and I tweeked it and it has been in pain for months. After having these shoes and the ankle support for a week and a half it finally healed :7

I have the Affirm XT cross crainer and I like them. I purchased from the Ryka website for $29.99. I have had the high top ones before, but I prefer a low shoe also.

Hey Aila Baby!! how are ya girlfriend?! i had the rythymII's too. i just wore them out. these have MORE ankle padding and otherwise, they just fell a bit cushy-ier to me. they are still lightweight with the great wide toebox. i LOVE them.
