RE: Ok, I was so confused!!
Good morning cheetahs!
Judy-I often try to do lighter weights and running the same day, then no cardio, or sometimes cross training on heavier leg days, although lately I've sometimes been letting a circuit be my "heavy" leg day.
Wendy-I think that you did a great workout on the treadmill yesterday and that you pushed yourself, but wisely. Ugh, the heat it's killer here.x( Nice job rocking BC this morning, now you can swim with Joey all day, lol!
Marcia-Windows are a must! Just remember that it's not all about the number on the scale, but about the work you've been doing, just use it as a gentle guide. I love the name of your half!
Laura-You did the right thing listening to your body yesterday, and I'm so glad that you're feeling on the mend today! What is your bootcamp class like?
Christine-When you work out on mornings like this, that's true dedication. RS is a lot of fun and once you get warmed up you'll be raring to go. High fives to your DH for running 3 miles yesterday!
ShellyC-Holy Cow bionic cheetah! I hand back the cheetah award and bow down before you}( Nice workout and well deserved rest day today.
Barb-Thanks for the compliments on the pics! They are some great memories (and some not so great ones as I am NOT a great sewer and I think I ripped more than I sewed on that tank top!)
Elaine-My screen name is something that I stole off a mailbox near my parents house, lol! It was random enough that yahoo didn't squawk at it and add more numbers so I just repeated it here. Also, I'm 24 (I'll be 25 on June 5th).
Carole-Thanks! *Blushing* I was so frustrated to get a huge size and not be able to wear one of my fave tees, so (even though I don't sew well) I fumbled through and am pretty proud of the results. I'll pass along the good wishes to DH as he HAS to be better by Sunday so he can race with me, lol! Even a slow 19 miles would have me flat and hooked up to an IV (as would your "recovery" workout), nicely done Super Carole.
Jess-That's awesome that you have another running partner and that you're challenging her to increase her own level! Hills are also unavoidable around here, and there's supposed to be one in mile 2 of my 5K this weekend, but I know the area and I feel like Crocodile Dundee saying "That's not a hill. Now this is a hill!" LOL!
Karen-Congrats on the time increase on your tempo runs! Whoohooo!!
Try to down as much garlic as you can as it will help tremendously. Other people will very likely avoid you (unless you follow the garlic with fresh parsley), but it's worth it to feel better. Healing vibes!
Hello to Gayle, Sarah, Amy, Kristi, Thomasina, Cathy, Karin (if you're lurking;-) , and anyone else I forgot!
Today I squeaked out a 5+ mile (I really have to get around to driving this route!) in just a hair over an hour, which I thought was more than decent considering it's mostly all uphill and it's about a billion degrees outside, lol! I've never been so WET on a run, even in the rain
Tomorrow I'm going to have to get by butt out of bed with Carole and Jess to beat the heat more thoroughly!
I've got 3 running books that came in today on interloan, so I'm going to go pick those up, run to the store, come home and make my homemade "Amy's" California Burgers, and then read in front of the fan, sipping iced tea until it's cool enough to move again.
