Hi all you runners out there have you tried these CW-X tights?
http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/19759584/c/3.html
I just bought a pair and putting them on was well, . . . if you've ever tried Spanx, . . this was harder to put on. Think corset for running. There is a front panel in the belly area that just holds it all in. There is no way anything is going to jiggle. I imagine that this is the way a mummy feels. Anyway, I'll be going on my 7 mile run today and let you all know what I think. I'm hoping to hear positive reviews on this since they were not cheap and it isn't exactly something you can try on and return if you don't like it.

Oh my gosh, . . . I just got back from my usual 7 mile run and it turned into 8. These tights are amazing. Right off the bat with my first step I felt the support. It is so hard to explain but they felt like they were massaging my thighs almost encouraging me to keep going. I have to admit when I first got them I had the "Yeah right" mentality. Super tights? Not to mention they aren't the prettiest things in the world but I have to admit these were well worth the money. My only problem, . . . they are sized like panty hose so they ask for your weight and height. I found the band around the waist constricting but didn't really notice after the first mile. There is a pannel for that problem pouch area that really holds in the gut so there is no flopping around. Also they are not the easiest to put on. You literally put them on the way you would panty hose, . .if anyone can even remember what that was like. Well, I just thought I'd let everyone know. I give these 2 thumbs up.

i have been considering these for skiing, but wasn't sure if it was all hype as they are quite expensive. it sounds like you had a really positive experience with them, so that is good to hear. did they offer any support to your kneecap area? this is what i am looking for.

Yes, they did. If you look how they are constructed there is a sort of criss cross panneling around the knee. The instructions that come with them talk about making sure that the cross pannel surrounds the knee, . .almost the way the heel of a sock fits. It is so hard to explain other than they just support you the way a girdle would. I would suggest zappos.com too because their return policy is way nice. You could try them on and run around your house to see if you like them. I just ordered another pair.

Yes! I have them, but in the full length style. They are really nice and have a supportive feeling to them. My only complaint is that the criss-cross panel seaming hits me right behind the knee so it becomes uncomfortable rubbing there during a long run. Almost feels like it hinders the bending of my knee because I can feel it. Did you find they fit you that way, too? I've tall (5'10"), so I'm wondering if it just because it is running shorter on me than it should?

have em and love em

haven't been doing any outside long runs recently, once DH gets out of the field I'll be able to get at it...I have the capri length and wore them during my marathon last year. I had issues with ITB syndrome and during the marathon it flared after a mistep on a rocky area. I fully believe that I would have had to stop if it weren't for the extra support that helped prevent further torque through the knee and helped me power walk the last 8 miles. Definitely not cheap but mine have quite a few miles and really haven't shown much in the way of wear. I thought regular tights provided support until I tried these. They are tricky to put on...but I wore TED hose while pregnant, and if you can wriggle into THOSE things preggo, you can handle these!!!
take care

Wow 5'10" I'm only 5 feet. I wish I was as tall as you. I'm super green with envy. I was worried that they would be to long but I didn't seem to have that problem. I can see how they might bug you the seams are sewn flat seam construction but the fabric is far from thin so if they bunched up I can see how that would be a problem.

Julie, . . I don't know what TED hose are but I can vouch for the fact that these are absolutely NOT the easiest to put on. I was almost so turned off by how hard they were to put on I was about to send them back, . . .I'm glad I didn't though. I guess I'm so excited about these because I like to run but I hate the injuries that runners often get. I've been injured twice while running and it has killed any chances of doing ballet on pointe ever again, . .my ankles are just not as strong. Not to mention it took a long time to heal before I was up and running again. Glad to hear that they hold up though. I'm so scared to wash them in the washer.

just wash in cold water and hang to dry...mine look like new (the drawstring end frayed a little of course). TED hose are a surgical stocking that are compression type material, we use them to prevent blood clots, assist with circulation, help relieve pain from varicose veins (thanks grandma ;D) and prevent edema. The devil to put on but heavenly support for my legs!
