Today is no run for me. I got up this morning and did Power Hour. I haven't done this one in some time and it has some really good bicep work in it. I forgot about that.

I bet Sarah is just sitting back today thinking about what she has accomplished. Good Job again Sarah.

Elaine when did you say your marathon training will begin? I wish you luck. Hope everyone has a nice run today. It's raining here. I know I'm spoiled by all the sun we just had here in Maryland.

Hi Karen:

I did a 4 mile run yesterday and then walked for another 3 in the afternoon. The weather was no nice I just had to take advantage of it. The 4 mile run felt absolutely terrific!!! I was so excited and pumped all day long.

I have two meetings tonight so won't have time for a run today, but I'm planning on walking over lunch to get something in.

GOOD JOB SARAH - we can't wait to here from you!!!

Have a great run/day everyone.

~Marcia~

Hi Karen....we posted at the same time...:)...I really like Power Hour and the bicep work is a killer...

Carole, isn't that the way it always seems to go. LOL

Christine- It sounds like my workout yesterday. I ran for six and walked for 2. The weather was great and I couldn't pass it up. Today it is raining . Go figure. I'm glad I got my outdoor run in yesterday.

Marcia...we had some nice weather yesterday too...nice and cool for my run. Sounds like you had a good run also!

I can't wait to hear from Sarah either. Her legs could be a bit sore from that speedy marathon!

I'll be doing some Yoga and a 5 mile run...

Morning,
I got up late again, ugh! DH is remodeling the bathroom STILL and it’s throwing everyone’s schedule off because he’s in there pounding until midnight sometimes, lol! Anyway, I did Cardio Kicks and when I get home I’ll do Gym Style Back/Biceps. I have a rotation all planned out and the first day out I mess it up, lol! Oh, well….I switched Wed. for today so I should be back on track by then….

Congrats again to Sarah!!!

Christine & Amy……that’s so GREAT that you two met and had such a good time. It IS so nice to say Cathe and name her workouts and the other person knows EXACTLY what you’re talking about! Christine, I love hiking and you’re so lucky to be able to do it often. This native Colorado girl misses the mountains!

Carole…..your long runs sound so nice. I wish we had more trails and open area here to run. Most of this area is over populated and still growing…

Shelly….I really like the two Amy Bento workouts I bought (Step/Pump and Cardio/Pump). The choreography isn’t as complex on these so my two left feet can handle it. I like Kelly Coffey-Meyers, too….but the Ready, Step, Go workout is going to take LOTS of practice from me. Guess that’s why I mainly stick to my Cathe step/cardio, I already know all the steps! Mattea, that’s why I did the step premix of C&W after because it was like an old friend, lol!

Karen....Power Hour is one of my favorites. You can get A LOT done in that one.

Marcia....great workout! I love this great weather, I hope it lasts.

Well, I’m going to attempt a run again tomorrow. Man I miss it!

Kathy G

Kathy...nothing wrong with switching days in a rotation! I am very lucky to have alot of trails here. I am sure there are some I haven't even found yet! It is just nicer to me then running with traffic on a busy road which does happen sometimes! I hope your run goes well tomorrow....I bet you do miss it...:)

Good morning runners!

I was so keyed up last night about getting into St. George that I had a very difficult time going to sleep! I think it was because I felt like I was in limbo and not knowing which marathon to obsess over was really bugging me. Then finally knowing made me a very excited and happy girl! Problem is, I won't know what to do with my time since I won't be checking their website every 10 minutes any longer!

This morning a sometimes running partner will be coming by and we'll enjoy the fabulous weather we have today. Don't know how far, probably around 4 or 5 miles. I'll do PUB this afternoon.

I'll be crafting a super duper marathon training schedule sometime today that will contain every aspect from core to elliptical to strength to running. Oh man, I'm excited!!!

I hope you all have great workouts today.:D

Carole....the only place to run around my house is up a busy street that's 45 mph, so I do alot of running off on the side in the dirt. Guess that's kinda like trailrunning, lol! I'm going to start off on the treadmill tomorrow morning, that way I can make myself go slower and hopefully not feel any discomfort later.

Elaine....that's so great that you got into the marathon! Planning is SO much fun. I have my calendar here at work filled with my race/training schedule, heck....who cares if I have a meeting that I should be attending, my training schedule is important, too...lol!

Marcia....Carole gave me a link to some Bryan Kest workouts (3 on one DVD) in Thursday or Friday's thread. Great deal, only $15.

Kathy

HI Runners :)

Hopefully Sarah will visit here today and share her experience with us.

I was away last week but managed to get in my miles.

Today was back to the routine of life, happily and my 6 mile run with my girlfriends went well. I also did upper body and ab work form the Time saver DVD minus shoulders; I ran out of time. I may try to get shoulders donelater after house cleanning, time permitting.

Karen-I just got PH on DVD and only had the Fittv version before, so I had never done the lunges, shoulders, or tricep work. I love this workout so much more than I thought that I did!

Carole-Weed pulling is a workout in itself!

Marcia-Sounds like you are really putting in the miles. And I'm always impressed with how you fit running around your work schedule, I'm always so tired after a full day, you are really dedicated!

Kathy-I just did GS BSB this morning! I love how fast this one moves and some of the unique exercises, especially with the band. Have fun!

Christine and Amy-So glad you guys had such an awesome time! I remember that feeling from the Road Trip:) Over lunch we must have talked about Cathe's entire aresenal!

Elaine-I am so HAPPY for you!!:7 :7 When you get that super-duper marathon training schedule put together, I for one would love to see it, it would really give me a firm idea of what goes into such training.

Judy-We missed you! You ran out of time doing the Timesaver DVD,
lol:p? You may want to consider scheduling your day less tightly!

Can't wait to hear back from Sarah, who again, did simply AWESOME! I told DH about her time and his response was, "Wow, that's beastly!" LOL.
Today was a step mish mosh RS WU, RS Challenge, MIC Interval Blast section (which in the DVD contains quite a bit of the step portion as well-nice surprise there), SB The Challenge, SJP legs and abs, GS BSB. My legs are a little tired and one toe is especially sore after yesterday's long run, but I'm still so psyched about taking 6 min. off my time that I don't care! Now I need to figure out how to add another mile onto the long run.

Have a great day!

Hi Ladies!!!! Any room in the "Marathon Club"??? New member here!!

I posted a super long account on the Open Forum. Get a bit to eat and take a pee break first because it is LONG! I typed it up this a.m. because I want to remember as many detail as possible.

The super short version:

GREAT experience, super happy with my peformance, super happy with my maturity during the race (listening to my body, slowing down when I needed to, etc.). Quads are pretty sore today, compliments of the hilly city! I wanted to learn and I did. No hard lessons, which I wanted to avoid. I know now what needs adjusted and researched before my Fall marathon (already signed up for Columbus).

Thanks so much for all your support! I thought of all of you, I really did! You ladies are the ultimate BEST!!

Thank you AmyG for the very sweet and thoughtful card! I love it!!

Thank you Carole, for the e-mail. It always makes me feel so good to hear things like that from very experience and the really good runners! I appreciate you taking me under your wing!

I am VERY proud of myself and feeling very good!

Final Stats:
3:48:40
Overall Rank 969 of 4172 (23.2%)
Class Rank 23 of 219 (10.5%)
Sex Rank 177 of 1709 (10.35%)

Hi Everyone,
Today's an easy 4 mile run day for me and L&G + abs from MM. The floor work on L&G seems to really help my recovery from running. I got some extra sleep last night, too, and needed it. My older son had a swim meet yesterday, so I spent too much time sitting and feeling my muscles stiffen up.

Carole--How are you after your long, long run? I'm so impressed at that distance for training and all the other weight work you do. How is the P90X yoga tape compared to Bryan Kest?

Karen- you must still be feeling happy about your race. I loved your post about feeling transformed from childhood. I could relate. :) Power Hour is a hard tape for me, I tend to avoid it.

Elaine-- Congrats about your entry. You are a training machine! You inspire me every time I feel like whining to just buck up and do what I have to do. This might be a dumb question, but where is the St. George?

Marcia--how does it work for you to walk after running? Do you ever feel like walking interferes? I like to walk, too, but sometimes worry it's overdoing it and other times it seems like great recovery.

Kathy G-- my husband should meet your husband. ..:)

Hi Judy--I'm new, so "hi!" That's great you have a group of women to run with.

Christine & Amy -- how fun that you met up! Amy --I tried an ice bath a few times and thought it worked great for the muscles, but brrrrrr. :-(

Mattea -- your time was great on your long run and with hills, too? You are awesome.

I must clean the bathrooms today. Enough procrastinating by me.

Barb :) :) :)

It' just amazing. The whole thing . The expericence the way you performed the way you inspire. Just amazing. I was thinking of you when i ran my 5K. You kept me thinking about how it is important to set goals and go after them. Thanks for posting this and now I'm off to the open forum. Thank you Sarah for being here with us.

*Limps into thread and waves a weary good morning*

Amy kicked my butt yesterday! :+ Actually, I think it's ALL of the activity I did this weekend, but I'm sore in places I have not been sore in in ages (calves??!? What's with that?!). Oddly enough, I feel great. Did Rodney Yee's Power Yoga this morning - part of my P90X recovery week (YEAH!). I think I'll take it easy the rest of the day so I can do a full assault again tomorrow.

ELAINE - HOW EXCITING!! You got into the marathon you wanted! Oh that is soo cool!

Sarah - I hope you're relaxing and basking in your glory... I'm so proud of you!!!

Kathy - I miss the mountains of Colorado as well! I do a lot of climbing there. One of my best friend's lives in Vail - in fact the photo I have on the boards is on the Half Moon Pass on the way to climb Holy Cross (and I do say CLIMB for Holy Cross - man - the last 2 miles was boulder hopping. My poor toes! Hope you get back to mountains soon.

Sarah-I followed your advice and peed first, but needed to take a snack break in the middle! What an amazing experience and moving description. I am crazy proud of you and echo quite a few others here "I wanna be like Sarah" (or Carole, or Elaine, or Gayle!)

Just wanted to add thanks for Carole and Laura for answering my questions from yesterday. Just got caught up on yesterday's thread. Carole, it's usually toast for me on the long run days. I make my own very whole grain high protein bread, so it's "clean" but it is so delicious:9

Laura-Sounds like your course is a great deal like mine-quite a few challenging hills. I like your idea of running for a certain amount of time and then seeing how far you made it. Keeps your mind off the time and more on how you feel.

Christine and Amy-Next time take the pics before you start!

Barb-I love everything about L&G, now I might just have to add another reason to the list. I'll have to try it next time my legs are feeling it!

Nothing to report...no running for moi as of late but looking forward to trying out the ITrain w/o this week sometime.

Need to say another congrats to Sarah on a fantastic job!!! You deserve more kudos than I have time to give!;) I admire you girl! You are INCREDIBLE! :+

Marcia...I do Bryan Kest like Kathy said. I also like Baron Baptiste, both of them have some good Power Yoga DVD's.

Mattea...yes weed pulling can really wear you out! WOW! awesome workout today!! I also make my own bread.

Sarah....I think you will be elected to the President of our marathon club!!! You did so well...and deserve some rest for those quads. Learning is so important for marathon running and I know your fall one will be incredible!!

Barb...I'm a bit tired after my long run, I always run very easy on mondays! Thanks, I am glad this is a recovery week from P90X so no HEAVY lifting. P90X Yoga is a bit long and drawn out. It is good though, but I do prefer Bryan Kest and Baron Baptiste as their workouts are a bit shorter than the 90 min of P90X! I agree with you about L&G helping, it is great for us runners.

Christine, I am so happy you and Amy had fun yesterday. I think hiking can get those calf's a bit sore...:)...I will be enjoying my recovery week!!

Finished my run and short Yoga workout. Off to have some food and hit the weeds. I might even try TLT SIM this afternoon...:)
