Runners - ? about clothes

I need to start getting some new running clothes - especially for the now colder weather! I was at our local running store last night and bought ONE top for $75. This stuff is soooo expensive, but I've tried cheaper stuff from places like Target and it doesn't work for me. It's okay for weights but not for runs. Are there any web sites you rely on for discounted decent running gear?

Not web sites, but if you have a Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls or Burlington Coat factory, you can get some really good deals. I got a Nike jacket for $8 last year at Burlington. As far as web sites, I haven't found any come close to the discount stores, but maybe try Kelly's Running Warehouse. I was also looking on Performance Bike and Bike Nashbar today for long sleeve tops with zippered pockets, I figure a cycling jersey would work, both those sites have some good deals--plus, you could get some tights as well.

Sometimes local races have nice clothing when you register. :)

ETA: Forgot about my go-to, Holabird Sports. Their store is on my drive home from work, so forgot about their website. I get most of my running shoes there because the prices tend to be much lower. They also run some nice promos on their site.

If you find a make/model/style you love and works for you, search for it on eBay. I've been able to score some really great deals for cold weather stuff, for both me AND my DS (football).

Thanks for the reminder about Holabird Sports. I always forget about them and they are only about 20 minutes away from me.

my fave thing for cold weather outdoor runs or rides is a vest. i have a pearl izumi jacket where the sleeves can zip off. sleeveless base layer, then an under armour or nike dri-fit type ls top is great. i agree, check marshalls & tj maxx type stores & clearance racks at sporting goods stores. performance bikes, bike nashbar & price point good websites to check.
