RUDE shoppers need to be dragged from the store...

Okay, so yesterday, my SO and I took the afternoon off and went to a local shopping outlet (one of those outlet malls). We had loads of fun until we got to the Ann Taylor outlet. AT is one of my fave stores, so I was really looking forward to poking around. I was sifting through a rack when this WOMAN came stomping over and stuck her hands in right in front of me! I mean she literally stepped in front of me and started looking through the exact same section. AND she smirked at me, and I will tell you, it was all I could do not to punch her out.

I couldn't believe how rude she was, though. I am still so p*ssed thinking about it!

I wish I said something really nasty, even though that is not really my nature. }( }( }(

What would you have done?

Marie

Hey Marie,

That would definitely p*ss me off too! I just don't know exactly what I would of done. My good calm side would of just said "Excuse you!" Then there is my nasty side that would have had her falling all in those rack of clothes. So I can't say which one I would of done. I guess it depends on what mood I was in!

Really on a serious note, that is something really rude for someone to do. She is probably someone who is always getting her way and was spoiled as a child. People like that are not worth the time of day. It was probably good that you didn't say anything to her.

I really hope I can say the same thing if someone does that to me!

I'd have given her the MAJOR smackdown right then and there!!}(
J/K, I might have said something like "excuse me, I was looking at these clothes do you mind?" But who knows. It's hard to keep your cool under rude circumstances but it sounds like you did a good job.
(and if she ever does it to you again, THEN you give her the smackdown and with a wire hanger to boot!!)
Carolyn
ps. I'm not really as evil as I sound!}( }( }(

I'm with Kim. You probably did the best thing because no matter what you said it would have rolled of the rude *insert expletive of choice*'s back like water off a duck, and she was probably hoping you would say something so that she could cause trouble.

But you can imagine giving her a nice strong front kick, or a left hook, all you want...

I probably would have given her a glare that could kill. I'm not always one to walk away from things that piss me off. Hubby is MUCH better at that than I am. Oh well....

Someone that rude would not have been smart enough to respond appropriately no matter *what* your initial response! When this happens to me, I often am too shocked to even say anything!

Like yesterday, I was walking up to a register in the craft's store. There was a woman checking out already at that register so I was about 5 feet behind her. his other woman walks right up to the line and in front of me as if I were invisible (PS I AM SIX FEET TALL, WAS WEARING 3 INCH HEELS AND AM PRETTY HARD TO MISS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) i sort of shook my head and laughed to myself. No matter what I said, she was going to think that *I* was crazy for saying something to her!

'Course there's always one of those punching combos in KPC. . . functional fitness:7

Don't listen to me, though! I've been known to pick up shopping carts when rude people ostentiously block the isles in Walmart, say 'excuse you!' or give 'em the super-mean-I-dare-you glare. One of these days, I'm going to get myself in trouble, but rude people are my #1 pet peeve!!!

Well if it was today, then I think I might have killed that women with just one look! I would have told her..."Excuse me, your friggin rude... please back off and wait your turn"!
I hate it too when I am at the Post Office and I have someone breathing right over my neck while I am writing a check, etc. I turn around and give that person my evil look. Usually works everytime! LOL!

Charlotte~~

Marie, I know what you mean. I hate it when I am in a particular section, and somebody comes right on top of me. People are clueless.

BTW, I love Ann Taylor too. :)

Lori

I'd probably do absolutely nothing, but I'd want to push her a$$ out of the way (and hopefully make her fall too!:p)and continue looking at whatever it was that I was looking at before I was so rudely interrupted!!! }(

Reminds me of the craziness of Christmas shopping! UGH! I love the holiday but hate the (RUDE!!!) crowds! I REFUSE to walk into a mall after Thanksgiving. If I haven't shopped the malls for Christmas by then, I won't shop them AT ALL! I stick to strip malls, independent stores and internet shopping after Turkey Day!

I am one of those that stores her Halloween decorations in the orange/black containers, Christmas in the green/red,etc....
Last year Target had the Halloween containers and decorations go on clearance. This lady turned her cart sideways totally blocking EVERYONE from going down the Halloween aisle, stuck the whole stack of containers in her cart w/ her purse and then proceeded to walk down the aisle grabbing items off the shelf. Once she went around the corner I started distributing the containers she had in her cart to myself and 2 other women.}( By the time she came back, instead of 10 she had 2.

Everone seems to complain about KIDS and how they are rude, but this just proves that they learn their behavior from adults!! If kids misbehave, you can trace it back to adult influence like this person! I was going to refer to her as "this lady," but she ain't no lady!
Just Do It! :)

At times like this, you kind of wish you hadn't left your cattle prod at home!

If only you could have, at will, cut a really bad fart, then smirked at her!

Realistically (unless you could cut the cheese) there is probably nothing you could do to make the situation better. People like this only care about themselves, and any reaction from you probably would have just provoked a more hostile reaction from the (!*$@_#$!

The only thing you can do is "protect yourself" by not getting too PO's (which is easy to say, but I would have a hard time, and do have a hard time, with situations like this). Instead of a "what would (the boxer who bit off another guy's ear) do" more of a "what would Ghandi do". As I said, easier said than done.

My stepmother always said that some people cause ulcers, and others get ulcers. This woman is definitely an "ulcer producer".
