RT Check in Thurs April 12

Phyllis, isn't this weather awful? Maybe snow over the weekend! ACK! I was hoping to do Tracey's Sweatfest Step workout today, but I forgot about a church meeting I have to go to. I think all I'll have time for is some weight work. I think chest is on tap for today. Dinner will be leftovers. I looked in the frig last night and saw hundreds of little plastic containers.

Blurb - We have a grey cat named Frank. He is the zippiest cat I've ever owned. He also has a tail that curls up over his back, like a huskie's. We tease him that his tail is attached upside down. We have decided that he is really a squirrel in a cat's body. Or maybe he was raised by squirrels.
 
Good morning. It is pretty nast weather here in NY! Freezing rain and just plain old, wet yucky rain and cold! Blah! Just got the kids off to school. My coffee tastes extra good right now. Makes me want to procrastinate!! But no can do...

So, off to the basement to do DM. I think I'll do it in it's entirety, followed by abs from B&G. Then tonight I teach cardio sculpt.

My eating is going okay, I am so addicted to Peanut butter and sometimes I think I kid myself that because I let all the oil out when I open it, I can have more than I should. Peanut butter calls to me all day... it says " Vicki, I am so sweet and yummy, don't deny me, please" So today my goal is to avoid the peanut butter to see if I really do need an intervention or not.

Phyllis.. I feel your pain about the weather!

Robin... Frank was my grandfather's name. He was pretty zippy too!

Phyllis this weather is so pissing me off in Kansas city. I put my winter clothes away a long time ago! YOu enjoy your rest day you deserve it:)

Good morning ladies!!!

What a nasty day outside! YUCK x( . I can hear the freezing rain hitting the side of the house!

I have super DPMS from yestrday's GS chest and tri's. I made it though the pushups (on my knees, mind you)but I'm paying for it today...ouchie!!! I also did the bonus cardio when I got home from school, and that was actually short rnough to be kinda fun!

Today I'm supposed to do a 45 minute bike ride, but it is raining and I do not own an indoor bike, or treadmill or elliptical...I guess I'll do the low max step only premix.

Phyllis - I feel your pain about the weather...isn't it supposed to be spring?

Robin - I have 2 kitties, P. Kitty (named after P Diddy) and Martha Stewart. P Kitty is a leopard spotted Bengal and Martha Stewart is a little chocolate point Siamese. They're pretty zippy too!!! They are my little babies!!

Vicki - perhaps we can start a peanut butter addicts support group :)

Randi - Have fun with PUB...it's one of my faves...the biceps are killer!!!

Today was B&G Leg Blast and OUCH!x( }( x( That one gets me every time!!

Vicki--I know what you mean about the love affair with peanut butter. I teach 4 year olds and they often bring pb and j sandwiches on white bread....looks yum! Of course I do natural pb on whole grain w/o the j!!;-)

Well, the time for rest is over. It's BM2 for me today:)I just have to say how excited I am about Cathe's new workouts...my husband is going to kill me though if I spend anymore money on workouts,LOL!

Phyllis- since Lost was moved to 10(past my bedtime)I DVR it. After I post here I'm off to watch it :)

Robin- I looked at clips of Tracy's new step workout yesterday, but would love to hear your opinion of it. I think both of our cats are little dogs in disguise.

Vicki- Love the picture of you and your husband, very handsome couple:)

Randi- I had also put away my winter clothes, and I had been wearing shorts...I hate the weather this year!

Josie- LM step only is one of my cardio favorites, have fun!

Phyllis - The weather is absolutely dreadful here too! I wish I was at home right now cuddled with my wiener dog by the fire reading a book! That's the only way to pass a rainy day!

Robin - Snow! Ick... I know you live near me, so I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that! I need SPRING!!! Your cat sounds like a cutie. I love the name "Frank". :) We had thought about naming one of the weiner dogs "Frank", but nixed it for the "location" name theme (Dakota, Cheyenne, Montana).

Vicki - Lol! I think a lot of us have the same problem with Peanut Butter. I just fool myself into believing it is "good" fat. ;) And of course pouring off the oil makes it less "saturated", right? ;)

Randi - Have fun working those tris & bis!

Josie - Sorry your weather rots too! I'm with you on not having a bike or any other indoor cardio equipment. I actually decided to renew my gym membership today mainly for that reason - access to some of the machines. I'm going to save up though for one of my own. I prefer working out at home.

Michele - Have fun with BM2! Are you going to do the whole thing?

Colleen & Jean - Loved reading your stories about meeting your DH's and getting married!

Belinda - My family (before I was born) was stationed in Germany. Dad was in the Air Force. They lived there for 7 years. My parents really liked it there and had a hard time acclimating to life back in the states. I think it is really cool that you have retained your citizenship! Can't wait to hear your accent! :)

Blurb - I've always been very big into sports. Played Volleyball in High School and College and Soccer in College (goalie). Favorite sport was figure skating though. I have a box full of old competition dresses and medals. I can still pull off a few jumps even now, but my spinning days are behind me!

Good Morning Ladies!!I haven't checked in for a while so I will need to catch up on all the posts later.

Phyllis-I hear you about the weather. I just want spring to come. I took DD shopping yesterday and bought her a bathing suit and the sales clerk gave me a funny look. Hey, the warm weather has to come some time, right? I stayed up for Lost too. OH MY!!!

Robin-LOL at Frank, the squirrel cat!

Vicki-Where in NY are you? I am in Rochester.

Randi-I love PUB. It is such a great upper body workout!

Josie-I keep saving up for a nice exercise bike!!The one I have I got at the neighborhood curbside store (Hee Hee).

Gin-Great job on B&G Leg Blast!!That one gives me DOMS for two days!!

Liann-That is so cool about the figure skating!!I always wanted to try it, but I can't even skate forwards without holding onto a wall.

Today I did Muscle Endurance. I am thinking of trying the Freestyle method for my legs because my thighs have gotten on the large side and now my jeans all feel tight around my thighs!!

My blurb for the day is that I am a reformed peanut butter addict:) My oldest DS(7) actually has a peanut allergy, which we found out about the hard way 5 years ago. We had given him some peanut butter on a cracker and within 5 minutes he was coughing, breaking out in hives, and he couldn't breathe. We rushed him to the emergency room and found out he was having an anaphylactic reaction. It was the scariest night of my life! I haven't had peanut butter since. We have to be very careful about what he eats, any restaurants we go to (and there aren't many that are safe for us to go to) etc. He has been having a hard time with this lately because he feels different, especially when he has to bring his own food to parties so he stays safe. We even had issues with his religion class this year because they insisted on serving things he couldn't have and he would come home crying. Now I wrote a book. Sorry to go on so long!!!

Just back from VACATION in Florida. Ran with my sister most days we are great at motivating each other to exercise. The food was also not bad as I eat a LOT less and better when I am not at work. Today I am doing LoMax because I think my thighs look jiggly but could be these pants.

Hope EVERYONE is feeling great and working hard. Just got a new Yoga tape in the mail and can't wait to try it out.

Checking in with all you RT'ers. One more day down towards the RT and cleaning up my person the eating patterns.:)

I did a mix of kickbox and leg work this morning. I was cloudy this AM and just did what I felt like.:) All in a day's fun!

Hi Roadtrippers!

Nice to see everyone again. I've been so busy with work I haven't been able to post much lately. Yesterday, I did Low Max (ouch! x( ) and today I did Step, Jump & Pump (double ouch x( x( ). I'm really looking forward to a run tomorrow - 2 miles outside and 30 min on the rebounder. Hopefully the rain will hold off long enough for me to get those 2 miles outside done!

Phyllis - Sorry to hear about the bad weather. It's time for spring already!

Robin - You'll have to tell us what you think of Sweatfest step. I'm so on the fence about this series.

Vicky - Wow, what a workout! Drill Max + Abs and then another workout in the evening. You are one tough lady! }( P.S. - I'm with you on the peanut butter. I'm lucky though, DH usually eats most of it before I have a chance. :)

Randi - I just did PUB the other day and my bis and tris are still feeling it. GO for it!!

Josie - I LOVE those pushups from GS C&T. The last business trip I was on, I did them on my own one morning, as part of a body weight/band resistance workout in my hotel room. I guess I forgot about it because I was wondering most of the next day why my chest was so sore. It hit me when I was entering my workouts into my log - DUH! That's why!! :p

Gin - No wonder B&G got ya. That 3 mile run you did yesterday worked your lower body pretty darn well, too.

Michelle - Hope you had fun with BM2. I haven't done that one in a few weeks, but it is coming up in my rotation early in May. It's one of my favorites so I'm really looking forward to it.

Belinda - Hope that cardio helps your DOMs! How were those pikes in PUB for ya?

Liann - I've always wanted to learn how to figure skate. Growing up in a small town in coastal Texas though, that was kind of out of the question.

Beth - I'm so sad to hear about your son. It's hard enough growing up without extra hardships. I'm sure you'll help him through the rough spots.

Kim - It's nice to hear about you running with your sister. Neither of my sisters exercises and I'm not very close to them any more (long story). Have fun with Low Max!

Amy - Just doing what you feel like is a refreshing change of pace now and then, isn't it? Kickboxing and leg work is a nice combination.

Looking forward to meeting everyone in August!
 
Well, I just limped over to the computer to post for the day -- just did the new CIA workout -- All Body Attack with Sharon Twombly. Oh MAN!! I am pooped and sopping wet. I thought it was more of a step workout or I probably wouldn't have done this today after doing Drill Max yesterday. Guess I should've read the front cover more closely -- it says "An Interval WEIGHT Training Workout". Anyway, it was 85 minutes of tough stuff and I had to pause several times to take breaks. Maybe some of you have done this and thought it was easier than I did but I thought it was a good workout.
Guess it's good I did a tough one today -- will be out of town tomorrow through Sunday and won't have a chance to workout again till Sunday afternoon.
Blurb -- I cleaned out all my clothes today and got rid of a bunch of stuff. But was going through my workout clothes and realized they're all a bunch of old rags!! I better get some new stuff before the RT!!

Hi ladies! I just got back from Phoenix late last night. I was at a 2 day training class. Got in at 1 am last night so I'm sleepy today. I managed to get in a few walk/runs from week one of the couch to 5k podcasts. Tonight I'm going to start a Cathe rotation. I'm so sick of slim series LOL.

Blurb for the day: I love to read books! I sometimes stay up way too late at night reading. I love contemporary fiction, just about anything from Oprah's Book Club, and I also love fantasy - as in dragons, elves and dwarves. My favorite book of all time is I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb.

Hi Liann,

Your parents lived in Germany 7 years? WOW! Were they stationed in Ramstein? I was stationed in Pirmasens, it is right next to Ramstein. They only bad side of not having an American citzenship is I can't get my old job back ( I uesed to work on post in the office!). I used to work in Germany for the Amricans and here in the states the jobs are all GS jobs( you have to be an American citizen!). Not always good to be so stubborn}( I can't hide my German accent! LOL!

I also love Oprah books & Harry Potter. Just finished reading the whole series for the new one too! Can't wait for it, but am also sad that it will be the last one.

I couldn't get up this morning, so did CTX Power Circuit after work and now have to get to bed.

Just finished Kelley Coffey Meyer's Step Boxing and GS-Legs premix. The premix was a bust. Very short if you skip the warm up.

Love Harry Potter, hate anything Oprah.
