Rotation for Post Operative Knee

Hi

Four weeks ago I had an arthoscopy on my left knee. A small amount of cartilidge was removed and some rough edging on the bone was removed. The consultant said there was no real damage, just wear and tear. Anyways he has said for long term cardio I should just opt for walking and cycling on a static treadmill and bodyweight exercise for strength. He has discharged me and said he's happy for me to do this. I'm used to Cathe and I want to continue with Cathe. My knee is alot better, the bruisings gone and the swelling gone down. It has no pain apart from when I kneel on it. I haven't worked out for 6 weeks and its driving me mad. I had the same opp done two years ago so I know its something that will probably happen again in a few years.

The problem is I cannot imagine just basic exercise for the rest of my life. Static bike bores me and I love my Cathe dvds. I have put on a load of weight and I miss my exercise so much. I want to get back into it and I was wondering what rotation to do to ease myself back. I thought of Cathes intermediate rotation and modifying where necessary. No jumping, just low impact workouts. Has anybody any suggestions?

At the end of the day my mental wellbing is just as important to me as my physical. Not exercising makes me feel very depressed. By the way I'm 42 so I'm no spring chicken but I know the days for me where I can do tuck jumps and jumping on and off high steps is behind me.

Thanks
Laura
