rotation for getting back to running/after 4 mo. off

I thought I could keep doing Cathe's HC rotation and add running back in but I was getting too tired.
I took up Cathe's cardio while I healed a knee strain. (mild) Now when I try to run again I'm back to the beginning. I used to do 3+ miles 3 x a week with added Weight Training on the off days.
I love Cathe's cardio and have built up better endurance than I ever had as a runner.
What kind of a rotation would you experienced runners recommend to get my running back (with out injury ... I was doing too much and got a bit of ITB on the same leg with the old knee thing)
I hate to lose the cardio training I have to start all over with walk/run and yet I can't fit in two workouts a day.
Should I give up Cathe step cardio for awhile? And just walk for one hour plus and add running in slowly? Can I do both? Can I do HC weight training and run? Should I go back to the Blast and or Intensity series with just the weights and skip the HC Gym Style for now?
I lost a good 5 lbs. just doing Cathe's Gym Style rotation for 3 weeks. This week I had to take an easy cardio week due to a cold coming on.
I love to have a rotation because then I stay focused.
