Rock Steady Step with Seasun Zieger

Just wanted to post that I received Rock Steady Step via UPS this morning right as I was finishing my workout. I popped it in to preview it. There is a 6 months pregnant lady in the video. I was so surprised to see a pregnant exerciser in a step workout labeled advanced that I had to post here. I will try the tape tomorrow morning and let you know how it was for me, being 17+ weeks pregnant.

Hi,
I was wondering where'd you hear about the tape? I looked at Collage website and could not find it there. How was it though? Was it good?

Lisa

I checked out Collage video last week and saw it. But then today I couldn't find it. So, I checked out CIAvideo.com and found it there. So, if you are looking for it go to that web site.

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. Do you know much about the CIA workouts?

This is a long workout- 78 minutes. I found it interesting that the pregnant background exerciser, Alison, didn't show modifications, but the other one (not pregnant) did show some (not many, however). Alison is obviously in good shape.

It definitely is not targeted towards pregnant exercisers. However, I found it manageable for a fairly complex step tape (choreography-wise). The intensity is high intermediate if you modify the power moves to lower impact, and advanced if you include them all. I did the workout on a 6" step.

I breezed through the first half of the step cardio. The second half was more of a challenge. Since I've only done this workout once, I'm not completely sure if I was just starting to get tired, or a combination of the following: frustration due to more complex choreography, frustration due to more choppy editing in the second half of the cardio (some of you may have noticed if you own CIA workouts), and being tired.

At the end during the ab section I found it interesting that Alison did the crunches on her back laying flat on the floor. Until now I was under the impression that pregnant women should stop laying on their backs somewhere between 12-16 weeks. Anyway, I went ahead and did the abs on my back too (which I had stopped doing a couple of weeks ago) and I felt fine also. I still think it isn't a good thing to do.

Anyway, I was originally excited upon receipt of the DVD that there was a pregnant background exerciser, but she shows no modifications. If you are up for complex choreography and interested in trying something different, consider this. But if you're feeling totally lacking energy, you'll want a lower intensity workout.

I have only owned two. One was kickboxing and one was with Mindy Mylrea, I don't rememer the name right now. I traded them both, only because at the time I didn't have the motivation to finish the kickboxing one, and Mindys' I think that there was just another tape that I thought I would like more. I just didn't like how fast some of it went, I still had a missing ACL at the time.
I only know that the backrounds are plain, and it's not as high quality as cathes videos. But as far as the workouts go, they are great workouts and are all advanced. I would buy another someday. Just not now, I have to get down Rhythmic Step first before I take on any more challenges!:)

I have done this tape, too. I learned it this last week. Since, I am not pregnant,it seemed really fun. But since I have ten children and know what it is like to work out and be pregnant - I will say that when I did the tape, I was really amazed to see the pregnant girl working out as intensely as the instructor with no modifications at all.

I worked out with my last five pregnancies really consistently, but I would never recommend that tape for someone pregnant, unless they modified it.

I guess I wouldn't wear a half top either when I was pregnant. I give her alot of credit to be able to bear all with a pregnant belly. It is fun and choreographically challenging though.
