Okay Robin, I made chipotle hummus last night, only I didn't make the recipe I had because I didn't care for some of the ingredients in it. So, I kind of made up my own recipe and I think it is GREAT! It's spicy, but it good! Here it is what I did:

1 can garbonzo beans drained (reserve liquid)
1 1/2 tablespoon tahini
About 4 tablespoons fresh lemon juice (I just used two large lemons)
3 cloves garlic, minced (I use the kind in a jar)
2 chipotle peppers plus 1 tablespoon of the abode sauce
1/2 tsp ground cumin

Blend all ingredients in blender. Add some of the reserved liquid from the beans if necessary for consistancy.

Hope you like it. Now I can't decide which one I like better.

Okay...I just got back from the "Stupidmarket"...and I feel really silly;( To all you great cooks out there...where (what isle) might I possibly find chipotle peppers and abode sauce? Would the peppers be jarred or fresh?

First off, I need to apologize because it's actually called adobo sauce. In my supermarket they have a "hispanic food" section and that's where I find them. They are around the canned green chilis and jalapenos. They are in a small can.

Hope that helps. Sorry for the mis-spell.

This recipe sounds really good! I found adobe sauce with the Hispanic food section, but to find the chipotle chiles in adobe sauce I hand to look in the condiment section by the pickles and canned peppers!

Thanks guys! I never would have found them.....LOL...I was looking in the fresh veggie section (gourmet cook that I am)...a duh! Heck, I've only recently realized that big super clean unused double silver thing in my kitchen with the knobs was something called an oven and not supposed to be used to store extra pans;).
