Rob Glick - Amazing Step Styles Review

While I don't care at all for the name of this workout, I enjoyed my workout yesterday. I got this from NetFlix. I liked it so I promptly bought it from DeepDiscount.com for less than $10 (I got it with a 20% off coupon).

I did everything except the bonus section that has all the combos one right after the other.

I got pretty much everything. I did do some rewinding. His names for the moves confused me as he would misname them or change the move and keep the same name, but I pretty much ignored him sometimes and watched his feet. It was pretty fun and a couple of moves I just "got" without even thinking about it. That was freaky.

He does like to spin and spin. If I didn't have my nice floor instead of carpet, I would not have enjoyed this as much. I did follow the girl in the back sometimes and stay front instead of spinning as much as Rob did. Amazingly, I never got dizzy.

I think my favorite move was the Gutter Step.

A couple of the moves I just couldn't get and by the time I was done with the basic workout, I couldn't really concentrate enough to do the bonus section, but I look forward to that after I've learned the workout more thoroughly.

My heart rate only a couple times triggered my heart rate alarm, but after I learn the moves more, I think I'll be able to work closer to the threshold. I still burned 450 calories and I was sweating.

I have a Patrick Goudeau dvd coming today from NetFlix and I went ahead and ordered Christi Taylor's Totally Cool Step when I bought Rob's.

So I'm well on my way to having more pure step workouts in my library. (I already own all of Cathe's pure step except those in Cross Train Express.)

Hi April,

I love this workout. It is pure fun. I like the gutter step too. Rob is so great at layering and cueing and even though his stuff is complex, he is easy to catch on to. I love to spin so his stuff is a lot of fun for me. I have a smile on my face when I'm done with this workout.

So what Patrick DVD are you getting?

Step My Way is the first one coming. I don't remember why I chose that one first. B.E.S.T, Step Up and Step Appeal are down on the list between other instructors.

I don't know that I'll have time to do Step My Way tonight. I'm scheduled for a 2 mile jog (baby run) and I don't think I'll do a step workout on top of the jog. Besides, hubby went home sick, so I'm not sure how much taking care of him I'll need to be doing.

I might pop it in and do the warm up before getting on the treadmill. :) I did that with Christi Taylor's Totally Cool Step (that I got from NetFlix, too) and decided to buy it off the warm up. Besides, it was the last day for the 20% off coupon. ;)

April,

I liked Step My Way. I traded away B.E.S.T. Even for a complex stepper like me, this one was hard to follow. Please let me know how Step Appeal is. This is on my wish list. I find Rob much easier to follow than Patrick but Patrick's are a lot of fun once you get the steps down and can get past all of his "oh my goshes".

I absolutely love Amazing Step Styles. It's a super fun workout and it always puts me in a good mood when I do it. I was happy to see a couple of the moves from that workout in Cathe's latest. Don't remember if it was HIS or LIS, but I remember watching it on preview and thinking "hey that was in Rob's!"

I bought Step My Way after renting it from Netflix too. Not long after I found B.E.S.T. and Step Appeal on deep discount and bought them as well.

I am currently learning Step Appeal, combo by combo. I think I have the first half down but it might take me another weekend to get the rest. Patrick is very complex but as the previous poster said he's a ton of fun. If you liked Step My Way, then you should like Step Appeal.

I still haven't done B.E.S.T, but I like to have at least one or two unopened step DVDs around for those times I get totally bored with the others in my collection. That one is staying in reserve for now!

I rented Rob Glick's Amazing Step Styles, but once I did it a few times it didn't quite have enough intensity for me. JMO. I did buy his BOSU workout and I really like that one, though.

Christi Taylor's Totally Cool Step is probably my most favorite step DVD of all time. I think out of all my DVDs (and there's a lot!) that one has been used the most.:D
