Marla,

I guess it depends where in California you get Mexican food. I live in San Diego; just 35 miles north of the border. We get great authentic Mexican food here (you just have to know where to look...I go for the hole in the wall places that are owned by native Mexicans). Yummy! Of course, the best marguerita I ever had was in Ensenada, Mexico...

You're right, Lorrayne. That was a bad generalisation. ACtually, I was in San Franciso at the time. I am always up for a good margarita though!

oh diners over here serve alcohol-- ok not all, but a good number. however, i still agree that mexican is the way to go!! :) and as always, I have my car and can fit 3 (squishied) in the back and one shotgun if needed.

ETA: What about brunch after the Friday morning class for those who are going to it? We should be done around 10:30-- does anyone want to grab a bite? I'm coming straight from Brooklyn and will probably be too nervous to eat before hand!

Shelley-- I'm soooooooooo excited to meet you now (not that I'm not excited to meet everyone!!! LOL)... it is so rare that I meet anyone who doesn't say "WOO HOO!" when I mention Blur...ha!!! We will definitely have alot to talk about. Right after this little road trip I'm going to see Embrace at the end of July in Philly and NYC. I know what you mean about Liam and Noel.. they are aggrivating, aren't they? I actually thought about not listening to them because of it, but in the end the music kept me around. Even if they don't live by their lyrics, it tends to be very very positive... unfortunate they aren't! I just saw them live at the Garden and they were very good. However, I think Liam's relationship with his tambourine is highly unnatural! }(

I'd like to join in on the Friday night dinner, too. I vote for mexican, too. I need some real food before the get together.

I can also drive at least 6 other adults.

What time are we meeting for dinner....are we meeting in the lobby? I would love to squish into someone's car, although I know I won't fit in a glove compartment! Although, back in the days of drive-ins, I have been known to fit in the trunk!

I was just thinking (not sure if this might be too expensive or caloric) but what about an outback or boulder creek type place?

Okay, this is how I see it. It's quite unlikely we're going to be able to show up at a restaurant on Friday night and say "table for 110 please":p

Perhaps we should all meet up in the lobby of the Ramada at 5:30 on Friday night, and from there we can proceed to whichever restaurant type we'd like to go to. As we're all meeting up at 7:30 anyway, for the Welcome Bash, it's not absolutely necessary that we all eat dinner at the same place. I was checking the Mount Laurel restaurant listings and there seems to be a proliferation of Chinese and pizza with a lot of other places in between, although I'm not sure what a lot of them served. Didn't see anything resembling Mexican.

There are also, of course, a couple of options right in the hotel.:)

Shelley, it's funny, but today I said EXACTLY that to DH. "umm somebody MIGHT want to call the restaurant ahead of time..."

I like your idea of grouping off. Good thinking.

LOL-- poison is as poison does no matter which one you pick!

I hope I can remember all these things-- the schedule... when to meet where LOL... although I'll be at the Friday morning class, so hopefully someone there will point me in the right direction at the right time!

:)

I hear you on the poison wisdom. I see so many choosing Mexican food - which I love. But I blow up like a balloon and retain bunches of water when I eat Mexican. I DO NOT want to show up for a step workout feeling like a beached whale. So I'm gonna' have to opt out and go another way. But everyone doing Mexican - enjoy it for me!:)

Well the poison I chose is Mexican, LOL! I can ALWAYS go for a great margarita!!}( }(

UKCharlatans....I'd love to talk to you as well...I am a huge british music fan and I really like Blur and am a big fan of Travis. I don't know the Charlatans music too well, but what I've heard I have really liked so far!! Looking forward to meeting you:)

Hey Sandy-- sounds like we have a little group of us!! How cool and unique to find fans of music NOBODY seems to know about around me at a fitnnes bootcamp!!! That is just very cool..

Does anyone have any resteraunt phone numbers? If we got a head count maybe we could inquire about reservations? It is a Friday night and there could be long wait lines for large tables (even if we split up)?

Maybe we should all order in and party at the hotel..... run around teh hallways like a dorm.......?
