Road Trippers - April 7

Cathlete
Hey,

I just did Drill Max this morning. I know everyone must be busy with Easter and all. So, what will everyone be doing? I am having family over to my house, so there will be lots to do.

I just booked my flight Thursday evening. I will be arriving in Philadelphia at around 11:40 AM and leaving Phil. at 4PM. I also decided to rent a car. If there is anyone who will be arriving when I do, I would be glad to drive them to the hotel. I will be wearing my Cathe hat at the airport, so I will be easily identified!

Have a great Easter and be sure to post tomorrow also!

Cheryl

Hi Cheryl - Happy Easter weekend to you! How on earth did you manage to get in DM after all those kids spending the night! My dear - you are amazing! Hope the sleep overs went well.

I've not workout out yet and am not sure that I will get a chance to today. We are truly digging out - have a foot of the white stuff and it's not letting up. My nephew spent the night and the plan was for his folks to come and get him - but with this snow I'm thinking it may be a day on the roads of meeting in the middle because it's so bad out there. KNEW I should have gotten up at 4:00 - but I slept in.

Oh well - have a good day all who check in today - and please work out for me too.

Lorrie

I'll be walking the Komen 3-day (60 miles) the week after Cathe's RT. Here's my webpage.

Good morning all and happy easter to everyone. Cheryl - great job on getting in Drill Max. I love that workout.

Lorrie - I would have slept in too at the thought of facing all that snow. You have your work cut out for you today. i would say that's enough of a workout.

I'm not sure what I'll do today. Yesterday was Power Max. Today I'll either do Shape it Up or some cardio.

Good morning roadtrippers!!!

Lorrie- Oh my a FOOT of snow? I'm looking out my window at blue skies and temp around 50 and I just can't conceive of it  If you're digging that out you'll be getting in one heck of a workout!
Probably more than any of the rest of us!! Good luck:)

Cheryl- Count me among those totally in awe of you dealing with so many kids so calmly--- at least your posts seem calm anyway! That's so sweet of you to offer a ride! I'm actually coming in on the evening before since I'm flying in from the west. My roomies are from Ca and are coming in the same time approximately. One of the "cheetahs" of the runners check in is picking us up. I'm glad to hear that there are others who are in the same quandry as I am about workout clothes!

Jennifer- Arizona definitely has a unique kind of beauty that's worth visiting!!

Vicki- I am not from NY but my DH was born and raised in Brooklyn and Staten Island and spent his summers in LI which is why we're going back there this June. That's amazing your DH does those commutes

Hi Tess! Powermax is a great classic!

Okay, time to get off my butt and get busy. Today will be a bit of a challenge for me. I'll be doing my long run (13 miles) on a very hilly trail.

Later y'all

ShellyC

Hello everyone, hope your day is going well!

ShellyC... wow, your husband was raised from Brooklyn and Staten Island! Not much of a true New Yorker, is he?? LOL... Staten Islanders have a very specific accent that cracks me up! My hubby and I are originally from the Bronx, then Rockland County and now Orange County.

Lorrie... good luck with all the snow. We are supposed to get a bit tonight. I can't believe it is spring and there is snow...

Cheryl... I seem to be the one who always has all the kids sleeping at my house as well. They all know that when it's time for "mom" to be in the basement for her workout, they had better be cleaned up and "outta" there. I actually love that my kids have their friends here because then I know where they are and what they are doing, don't you agree? And I do get a kick out of all of them!

Tess, I don't have Powermax, is it a good one? I am going to go check out the description and see if it's worth getting... let me know what you think.

This morning I taught my Cardio/Sculpt, so I am going to go do one of the shorter premixes from B&G. Then it's off to finish Easter basket shopping, then Easter Vigil tonight.

Have a wonderful day everyone and to all who celebrate a very happy Easter.

Hello everyone. Today is a rest day for me. I have no plans for tomorrow as I am Jewish. My husband is Catholic, but doesn't care about Easter. When the kids were little we did the egg hunt and all the traditional kid stuff, but now no fuss. I will be cooking a turkey breast though! :) I'll take any reason to have a good meal.

I'll need some workout clothes to wear on the trip also. I never wear pants. How about you gals? I get too hot in pants and I feel restricted. On a cold AM, I may start out with sweats on but they come off real quickly!

I hope you meet with everyone early on Fri. I live in South Jersey nto far from Cathe, so it's easy for me to get there at any time. :)

Happy day everyone.

Hi! Happy Saturday. I was super energized today. Don't know why.... I never know what causes these super intense energy cycles. All I know is that I love it. Terminator Imax X-treme flew by this AM, I tacked on the B&G core work.

Phyllis- I agree with pants being restrictive and warm. I prefer shorts. I like ones with lots of support/lycra. Browsed the REebok outlet last night with DH. Did not purchase anything. It seemed most everything was geared toward running.:-(

I'm still pondering when to get into the city for RT. Will continue searching for options re: driving and taking more time off work.

Our plans for Sunday are, hiding the basket of goodies from DD. We will try planting a series of plastic eggs. In the #1 egg a clue to #2, then onto #3 etc. til she reaches the grand prize.

We will walk across the street for Eats at Mom's at noon. More egg hunts and chocolate follow.

Oh, I will have to workout in the AM. GS Chest back bi's + cardio.:) I hope the energy elevation stays high for a few days.

Tess - I always loved Power Max - I just haven't done it in yearsa. I am often tempted to pull the older videos out to do them, since I do have them on DVD, too. That last segement always seemed so hard for me.

Lorrie - I don't blame you for sleeping in. Where is it that you live? I live in Michigan and we have about 4" of snow. It looks more like Christmas than Easter.

ShellyC - WOW - a 13 mile run on a very hilly trail. I had to start laughing when I read that, because I tried to picture you running on a very hilly trail with ice and snow! Now I know that might not weem too funny, but when I look outside I cannot imagine running anywhere for it is isy out right now!

Vick - not to be personal or anything but since you posted that you were going to the Easter Vigil I figured you must be Catholic. I will be going to Mass when I am on the RT. I will have to find a church and figure out the best time to go. All of my kids know when it is time for me to workout and that is my time. I also work out in the basement. If I have kids spend the night, I just get up a little earlier and if they wake up I just stop.

Phyllis - I feel the same wasy about wearing longer pants when I workout! YUK! YUK! I prefer capri length or whorts. I have some longer shorts made ourt of sweat material that have slits half way up the thigh. These are my most comfortable workout clothes. I just might bring these with me. I have about 8 pairs of them. I then wear a sprots bra with a lightweight 3/4 top. When I get warmed up, I just toss the shirt!

I got all my floors mopped. I also got the three bathrooms done. We will be having about 20 people here.

Cheryl

Good Afternoon RTers!

Today I was supposed to run the Komen 5K, BUT....1) My DS drove in from college at 11 am (yawn!) then I heard him up all night coughing (yawn again!). DS either has a bad cold or the flu! So after about 4 hours of sleep, my running buddy called to say it was 30 degrees outside and we both decided to give it a miss. I haven't missed running the Komen in 12 years. So now I think I will do a short Firm cardio tape and then a Timesaver section.

I also work out in ratty old shorts and t-shirts. I will need to purchase some new things to wear.:7

Happy Easter!
Stay warm.
Gin

Good afternoon ladies!
I haven't posted since Monday and have missed chatting with everyone:( . It's been a very busy, crappy week. TTOM completely wiped me out; felt like crap, ate like crap, and the sudden cold weather didn't help! I did manage to drag myself out of bed, get in my workouts, and get to work but just barely. It wasn't pretty. Am finally feeling better. Did MM upper body & abs this morning.
No big plans for Easter tomorrow but I hope everyone who does enjoys their celebrations.
Amy-Your plans with your daughter sound like a lot of fun. Enjoy!

Tess-I did PowerMax yesterday. I liked it.

Cheryl-Sounds like you will have a house full and got in a good workout cleaning:)

Lorrie-I feel for you with all the snow. Hopefully good weather will be here soon.

ShellyC-Enjoy your 13 mi hilly run, whew!

Phyllis-I am with you also on the pants. They drive me crazy. I've always wondered why Cathe & crew almost always wear pants.

Gin-Sorry about your 5K, but I sure don't blame you.

Have a great weekend everyone!
Kara

Hi all, can one more join your checkin? I would have posted earlier but my darn 'puter was getting fixed over the last two weeks (another fried motherboard!).

Right now I'm two weeks into a CTX-style rotation. Every day it's 30 minutes cardio followed by a Gym Style timesaver premix (and going heavier on the weights). I'm liking it but I've ended up neglecting my abs because I get pressed for time. I keep telling myself I'll make up the abs at night when I get home but that never happens.:-( .

I see that a lot of people are arriving for the RT earlier on Friday. I haven't decided what to do because like Phyllis I live close to Cathe-land. I haven't decided whether to take off from work, take a half day, or just drive over right after work. I'm so stingy with my vacation days!

Hi trippers. Just a quick check in to say hi. I've decided to take the rest of the weekend off and restart my workouts/better eating on Monday. I can't picture myself as overtraining, but looking back, I've been working out 6 days a week for the last 3 months and at least 2 of those workouts each week were about 90 minutes long. Maybe I DO need a break. So I'm cooking, doing laundry, cleaning, and shopping. Tomarrow is church, my grandson's dedication and Easter dinner. Hope you all have a wonderful Saturday, or at least what is left of it.

HI Ladies
Today I did S&H biceps ME Biceps and gym style biceps omitting the first 2 bicep exercises. Have a great weekend everyone!
