Cathe, Chris, Nancy, Coordinators, Staff, Crew, and Beloved Road Trip Sisters:
This is my third morning back in the real world, and I am still missing y’all like crazy and overwhelmed with emotion. I have been spending all my free time pondering the memories, reading and writing about our time together, and looking at all the beautiful pictures. There are no words to adequately convey the glory of this amazing experience. It was a life-changing weekend for me, and I will never be the same. I still have not unpacked my bags. I am having withdrawals and want to move to Jersey!
Cathe, I want you to know that your sweet smiles and gentle words of encouragement carried me through those classes when I did not think I had the strength to take one more step. Thank you for affirming that it was okay to modify when I was too tired to move. This was an intensely challenging experience for me physically and emotionally for reasons I shared in a long thread in Open Discussion. Thank you for being such an inspiration every day and such a gracious hostess for us this weekend. You have the gift of hospitality, and you treated us like family. You made me feel beautiful, special, loved, cherished, safe, secure, warm, and welcome far from home. Meeting you for the first time Friday morning and enjoying your dancy Friday morning step class was the highlight of the weekend for me. Thank you for giving us your weekend, being so attentive to us, and lavishing us with countless smiles, hugs, encouraging words, and autographs. Thank you for treating us to yummy food and thoughtful gifts. I love my tee shirt and tote bag. Thank you for blessing us with your time and talent. You are so good at what you do, and it was such a joy and delight to experience your classes up close and personal. I loved and appreciated you before this trip based on your video personality and interaction with you here, but I love you more than words can say now. Seeing how loving, kind, genuine, and humble you really are increased my respect and admiration for you beyond measure. :* I have a blast with you at home, but you are even more fun in person. You are so precious, and I praise God for bringing you into my life. Without a doubt, you are a gift from Him. Thank you for helping me burn/sweat off all those calories I ate this weekend. I was surprised and delighted to return home 3 pounds lighter because I was expecting to gain weight! Thank you for the beautiful new avatar photo. Don’t we look like a bowl of rainbow sherbet?! :7
Chris, thank you for all your hard work and for answering all my business and technical questions this weekend. I appreciate all you do for Cathe and us.
Nancy, thank you for welcoming me to the studio Friday morning and helping me get some new contacts so I could see after the airline lost mine! Thank you for allowing me to take your spot up front and center behind Cathe during her Friday morning step class! You are a doll! Your taste in professional football teams is questionable, but I still love you. ;-)
Debbie, Kathy, and Lorrayne, thank you for going above and beyond the call of duty and making this a weekend to remember and cherish forever. Your hard work produced eternal fruit in me. Kathy, you are an angel. Thank you for the pep talk Saturday afternoon when I was crying and battling personal demons and wondering if I could keep pressing on. Your words turned me around. You made me believe that I could pull myself up out of that pit and make it through the rest of the day. The temptation to give up and call a cab was overwhelming. I love you dearly! Thanks for helping me find my game face again! I was almost certain that I was losing it completely. Love and big Texas hugs to all of you.
Brenda, Cedie, Jai, and Lorraine, thank y’all for the personal encouragement you offered after I shared my pictures with you Friday night. Thank you for signing my Cathe calendar too.
Cathe’s staff members, thank y’all for your hard work and for maintaining such an immaculate facility for us to enjoy.
Cathe and my beloved Road Trip sisters, thank you for affirming and inspiring me and lavishing me with love and encouragement. Y’all have captured my heart. I love you more than words can say! By the grace of God, I will finish this race and reach my goal weight. I am looking forward to the day when I can attend a Road Trip and enjoy this amazing experience to the fullest without the burden of this excess weight. And I want you to know that each of you owns a little piece my future success. I will hold the memories of this weekend in my heart always. With such a diverse group, the bond we shared was simply amazing. I experienced more healing in 48 hours than I have in years of counseling. I have never been so loved in all my life. Thank you for loving me. Y’all are gifts from God, and I pray that He will bless you beyond measure.
Cathe, I hope and pray that you are able to host more than one Road Trip next year. I want to return and will cry if I am not able to do so. I also want everyone who has not experienced this to have a opportunity to go, and I am still disappointed about not meeting some of my precious forum friends who were not able to attend this year. I also want this experience to be a blessing for you too and not a source of stress. Your time is precious, and I want to honor that. I am praying for you as you decide how to handle this next year with so many people who want to attend, and I am trusting God to work out all the details. I personally like the way it was handled this year (but a weekend or evening sign-up would be nice) because I do not want to gamble with this (as in a lottery).
I have a weekend of memories to cherish forever. Y’all touched me in my feelings and blessed me to tears. May God bless each of you beyond measure for your kindness to me. :*
