Stay Classy! It must warm the cockles of your heart to think that the President lost the Olympic bid. He got what he had coming right? What you and a few others on this thread fail to understand is that it wasn't about him and it wasn't for him. Chicago has been working for this since 2007. Thousands of people worked hard for this and 84% of Americans would have like to see the Olympics in Chicago. Obama is not hurting from this, the people of Chicago are, so go ahead and laugh it up. He went there because the city asked him to and G.W would have done the same thing for his home town. Our president and other heads of state from the other four countries went there and sang the praises of their country, but only here, in America, you will find a bloc of people who just wanted him to fail and take joy in it.

If Democrats did some crap like this, they'd be branded Un-American.

I couldn't agree with you more. So the President tried and it didn't work out. Don't we all tell our children that its ok to fail but its not ok not to even try. Those losers over at the National Review and over at Fox News really just need to grow up. Why do they hate America?

I think Paul Krugman said it best " The modern Republican Party has the emotional majurity of a bratty 13-year-old."

I am not talking about most voters who have supported the Republican Party but it applies to many of their officials as well as very right leaning organisations and media.

Yeah, with the difference that the Democratic leaders distanced themselves from that and said it it uncalled for and unhelpful. There is no distancing from any Republican that I have heard of, I think some of them are actually fueling the fire.

Do you really think you have any idea whatsoever what the President was doing during the 24 hour period he traveled to and from Copenhagen? GW Bush spent over 400 days in Crawford during his "presidency". Did you complain about that?

I think you mean hanged; hung means something different altogether.

The problem with your anaology is that there are always going to be people on the fringe that do "fringey" things but here, there are elected members of the Republican party who are calling the President names i.e. socialist and questioning his legitimacy as president of the U.S. There was a member of congress who called the president a liar during a joint session of congress and was praised for it by members of his party. I don't recall this kind of thing going on during the Bush years.

Then you must not remember Harry Reid's comments when Bush was president. This sort of thing is always going on. Does it make it right....nope, should not happen on either side.

Harry Reid said Bush lied because well... Bush lied. During his 2000 campaign Bush said he would not go forward with nuculear waste at Yucca mountain. Flash forward 2001, Bush authorized Yucca mountain as a storage site. Oh yeah, and let's not forget that little war that Bush got us involved in by claiming Iraq had nuculear weapons. Another lie. Bush said oil revenues would pay for the Iraq war. Another lie. How I wish there were more people willing to call Bush out on his lies. Perhaps we wouldn't have lost thousands of lives and spent trillions of dollars.
