Restaraunt food is not my friend.

Yes, I know it is pretty much impossible to gain 4 lbs in 4 days, but here I am back from our trip to St Louis and 4 lbs heavier. I knows it mostly from eating out, salt, water retention, etc, but it is soooooo annoying. The scale should swing back in a few days. Yes, we ate out, but we were also walking around all day every day. And climbing, too - the City Museum was really, really cool. I was eating more junk than normal, but I know I didn't take in an extra 14,000 cals btwn Weds and today. Heck, we ate breakfast at home Weds, and a self packed picnic for lunch on Weds. So those meals wouldn't even count as un-normal food intake. I imagine its just salt/water, and I think Aunt Flo may have a bit to do with it, too. But it still bites the big one. I am off to CC PP, even though my legs and feet are still tired from all the walking. See if I can burn off some of this butter!! And then a nice big salad for dinner ---- mmmmmm, veggies!

Nan, We're finishing up a 10-day vacation. I feel your pain!

I am NOT, I repeat NOT, getting anywhere near the scale. This is a once a year trip. My eating was mostly okay with a daily indulgence, some days worse than others. I got a WO in most days.

Back to produce & guzzling my water! The weight will come off - without me depressing myself over what the scale says!:)

I hate commercial food too! And you think 4lbs in 4 days is bad? Try doing that in one day! Thats why I hate KFC. Its at the top of my "DONOT-EAT" list. I feel your pain. Did you fly? Flying always makes me heavier (go figure.) Stupid restaurants plump everything with cheap salt and hormones which makes us fatter, why would I go back if I know thats what happens to me? They are so dumb.

No matter what

Vacation is great, but I think we all gain weight when we go on vacation. I'm no where near skinny and so I always feel fattier when I'm not working out and not eating at home. I hate to eat out because you spend a LOT of money on food you eat too much of and wouldn't normally eat at home. Think about it...we're a family of 4, we spend about $60 bucks to eat out. That's a lot of groceries!

I went away for 5 days this month and came home 4.5 pounds heavier. I lost 3 of those pounds with in the first 24 hours of being home so don't fret. I am, however, having one heck of a time getting rid of the other 1.5 pounds.

I don't know why, but I usually LOSE weight when I eat at the Cheesecake Factory. We usually share appetizers, or an entree with my husband, but I ALWAYS have cheesecake, and the scale likes it--makes me pretty happy too!

I'm somehow able to maintain weight on vacation. I think that it's because I don't get in an intense workout, so my appetite doesn't get out of control. Also, when I eat in restaurants, the food is so rich, that I never feel the need to snack or indulge any other time. It's certainly not a way to live long-term, but I usually only eat one large meal and one small meal per day when away.

Perhaps I will try The Cheesecake Factory Diet. Sounds like a yummy one!!:p:p:p
