REST DAY

I GET CONFUSED ABOUT RESTING. CATHE DOES INCORPORATE ONE REST DAY INTO THE ROTATIONS. BUT, THEN I READ ABOUT EXCERCISING 7 DAYS A WEEK, WHICH I USED TO DO AND I AM TRYING TO TAKE A REST DAY. ANY THOUGHTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
 
I rest when I feel it's necessary, at least 1 or 2 days a week. For me, resting just means not working out. I use the time to do more around the house, run errands, etc.
 
I believe in rest days. Our bodies need down time. I take 1-2 (well occasionally 3 -not intentionally LOL). Some people do workout 7 days a week and it works fine for them. I think it's just important to listen to your body and not over do it no matter what you are doing. I also think the intensity of your workouts may dictate how much rest you need. I even take a week off a few times a year. It helps me both mentally and physically.

I believe in taking a rest day. However sometimes on my rest day I will do a restorative yoga workout or a relaxing long stretch.
 
Hi! I was working out 7 days a week for a while, and I got really run down and sick, so I had no choice but to take a few days off. I'm back on track now, but I am giving myself 1 day of rest a week. I feel like I have alot more energy,and the workouts feel more productive. I guess everyone is different, but this really seems to work for me. It also frees me up to get other stuff done!:) Take care, Nancy~~
