Resistance Band favorite

I saw at VF a very short thread about what resistance bands everyone is using. Only one person (Kathryn) talked about liking the Beachbody ones. What do you all recommend? If you have some that you don't like, mention those too! Alexis

Thanks Dani. So are the handles included with each band or do you have to switch handles? How the heck do you figure out which "color" to get? A heavy band is not a heavy band to everyone! Alexis

I bought a set of three differnt tubings yesterday at big 5 sporting goods store for 30.00, they are light, medium and average, I think they will work great, It had a free kelli Roberts tape with it to show different exercises and such. The sporting good store had single ones for 12.00 but I just bought 3 different strengths for the different exercises. The handles were all included with each one. Have a good day. Mine is called the SPRI xertube I believe you can order off line, but wanted them last night to try out the new Cathe work outs.
Well off to work again.

Debbie:) :) :) :) :D :D

It also had a free kelli roberts vhs tape to show different exercises also.

HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL.

DEBBIE:)

I bought some from Target (Reebok I think), I'm trying one tonight for my first P90X workout...I'll post back here.

Well the heaviest resistance didn't give me enough resistance for pull-downs...I may order the Beachbody sets afterall.

That's what's confusing to me. Beachbody says "this" set is for women and "this" set for men. Well, what women are we talking about? I saw their chart showing pounds of resistence for each color band but I don't know how that translates to dumbbells. I use 10 or 12 lb. dumbbells for bicep curls. Sometimes 15s. The chart shows 20 lbs for the pink band. What does that mean!?!?!? I want to get the correct set of bands! Alexis

Alexis, I think if you buy one of the sets, I would go for the "men's" set. If I remember right, two of the women's set bands are included in the men's set right? The only one that is not is the "lightest" one which I am sure, you being a Cathe-Girl, you would at least use the second weight up. Does this make any sense???? I think I remember there being an EXTRA heavy one in the men's set too, but you wouldn't have to use that one. Okay, I have myself confused with my response now! I'd go for the men's set! :)

Thanks Deb. That's what I was thinking, too. But sometimes we think we're a little better than we really are:p and I wanted to make sure I'm not getting something I can't use. You're right. Being a Cathe-girl means I'm stronger than most. Ripped Lexy

RE: And....

That's me, Deb. The lean, mean, boxing machine! I love talking to you just to get those little animated guys! Come on, give me one more! BTW, I had that same expression on my face yesterday. Lexy

For the lean, mean boxing machine:

And, if your bands get tooo tight for P90X, you can always use them to jumprope!

I use the "Extreme" set (the heaviest) for pull-downs. If you are also using bands for biceps, shoulders, etc., I would recommend the "men's" set, which includes the heaviest one from the women's set as well as the lightest from the "extreme" set. Then, if you need lighter or heavier bands, you could buy the separate ones they offer.

If you are going quite a bit lighter than Cathe on her tapes, you might want to use the "women's" set for biceps, etc.
