Remember your very first workout?

The post about a one-year anniversary of exercising with Cathe made me think back to my VERY FIRST workout! It was in July of 1982 - with Jane Fonda of course!!!! I remember that she wanted you to run in place (barefooted) for THREE MINUTES!!! She said "this is the cardiovascular portion of our workout". And I couldn't do it! I fell over on the couch exhausted! But here I am, 23 years later, working out with Cathe for a couple of hours at a time, so I'm glad I stuck with it!

Anyone else remember your FIRST workout?

>God no. I can barely remember my last workout. :+

LOL, Laura.

Mine was in high school. Someone had called me fat, so I started Jane Fonda. That year was also my first foray into the land of eating disorders. Happy time! :p

My first adult workout was with Bill Blanks and Tae Bo. I couldn't get through it. How times have changed! I did the advanced last week just for fun and though, wow this is pretty easy. :)

OK in all seriousness, I think my first home workout was that ridiculous Cher video with Kelly Roberts. Do you think Cher really wore black teddies to workout? :p

I vaguely remember my first gym workout. I had some semi-pro football player train me. Back in the days when Nautilus was all the rage. My how times change.

well besides doing the soccer thing in school. my very first workout was around may of 2000. i got up early(around 7am now thats late)anyway denise austin had her fit and lite and i did the warm up yoga part and a few minutes of the cardio. i was still smoking and drinking pretty heavly so it took a while before i could do the whole show than started to both shows back to back. then around xmas that year i got her fat burning blast tape and it just kept going from there. at the time she was just the pep i needed to workout but now i just want to smack her LOL but she was a great starting point for me

Firm Vol. 1 with Susan Harris. I pooped out after 20 min. and VOWED I was going to be able to finish that workout.

LOL!!! I had that tape. I thought it was great at the time. Cher is such a strange duck--but somehow I liked her.

Mine WAS Jack LaLanne. Two Cleveland TV stations had him on back to back, and I remember being lost when they took his show off. There was nothing else back then, isn't that sad? We're talking early 70's.

even though my vcr is on the fritz i still won't give up my fonda tapes. they have great value. i did find the book for $1 at the goodwill so i can always do a workout with jane. the first time i did her workout my buns were sore for a few days.

My first video workout was The Firm Volume 3 with Sandahl Bergman!! I bought it while I was in college, when they were like $50. It was a HUGE investment for me. I then purchased a couple sets of dumbbells and I think I did this workout every day for about 1 1/2 years!!! I never seemed to tire of it!! But I got great results with it!

I don't remember what it was called but it sure was awful! LOL.I use to hang out with this girl growing up and her sister was really into aerobics.Im talking about 13 yrs ago. This video had to be made back in the 80's.It was a hard workout though. You use to take breaks and sit on the couch.LOL
I bet my mom still has the workout home somewhere. She never throws anything out.It would bring back some memeories watching that one again! hahaha
Lori:)

The first workout I ever tried was "The 20 minute Workout" when it was on TV (what the heck was that anyway, with the creative camera angles it often resembled soft porn more than a workout!!). I think it was around 1982. I guess I didn't like it much because I waited over 10 years to try working out again but then I stuck with it!

LOL Laurie! Mine was The 20 minute workout too! It was on everyday from 5 AM to 6 AM!
I used to do both workouts. You're so right about the camera angles!

I then moved on to Jane Fonda. From there I discovered The Firm and finally, perfection....CATHE!

Me too! I then did the Jane's VCR tape with my 2 year old next to me following my every move...she'll be 23 years old in May. Go figure....she has become a personal trainer "on the side" for extra college spending money:) I wonder where she got that from?????
