The reason I ask is because for the past 4 weeks, my hair has been shedding more than usual. For a few months prior to this, I thought it strange that I didn't seem to be losing as much as I should (go figure). Anyway, several years ago, I went through MANY months of extreme stress (worry mostly) and a few months after all was well, the hair started shedding. I don't remember how long it lasted and I just know it stopped and was fine again.
I'm worried this time as well. The only thing I can think of is "some" kind of illness I had at the end of June that knocked me out for 2 weeks and didn't FULLY recover for a couple of months. I have stress worrying about my relationship but that's nothing new. I started using Nioxin and taking hair, skin, nail vitamins. Had blood work and thyroid and iron were ok. I'm just praying this will resolve itself. SO FAR, no one else can tell anything is happening, but of course, I can. I see the overall thinning. I try to wash and rinse my hair in a way that I won't see what comes out and I no longer comb through it before I dry it. I've looked back at past posts on hair thinning as well. Sites online say that humans do not go through "molting" periods but hairdressers say otherwise. They have told me I could be shedding more due to the time of year. But still, how long would THAT last? Has anyone experienced the extra sjedding after childbirth? It's supposed to be similar (Telogen Aeeflvium). Thanks again.
