RealRyder bike- anybody tried/have one?

I like them!! :D There are 2 of these bikes at my gym. I've only tried them a few times. They are smooth to ride - just like a spin bike. The "steering", which is supposed to work your core and balance, takes a while to get used to, especially while standing/out of the saddle. People's instict is to forcefully lean side to side but it actually works "easier" if you don't force yourself. Gently/slowing leaning side to side is key. You can really feel it in your abs then.

HTH!

Thank you! I do not belong to a gym anymore but haven't heard of any of these bikes in my area anyway. I am thrilled to hear from somebody who has tried one. I currently ride my bike outdoors and have one hooked to a stationary trainer. Do you think this leaning action makes a big enough difference in the experience to be worthwhile?

You know, honestly, IMHO, no, I don't think it's worth the purchase. Even though I like the RealRyder, I don't think the leaning/turning is worth the extra expense. You can work your core for free on a ball, standing, or the floor!

I can see how this bike, in a group class setting, adds more variety to the workout.
