I know this is a very personal info sorry but you all seem to be so knowledgable, Here is what I need advice on, My breasts are in tons of pain and when I lay on them or they get bumped or touched it feels like needles shooting through my breasts, I have suffered like this now for several months. I called a gyno but I can't get in till the middle of May. Has anyone ever experienced this kind of breast pain

I have, it would last forever and honestly I don't know what causes it. Could be hormonal, thats what I thought it was. I went through all of last summer with my breasts so sore I couldn't even stand under the shower. Also, any type of soy product makes my breasts sore because of the estrogen that is in the product. If you are eating or drinking a lot of soy, maybe cut back or stop altogether for a while and see if that makes a difference.

thank you for replying, I don't drink or eat anything with soy, I got an appointment with someone on Wednesday to check out my breasts and get some lab work and stuff done. I am not sure I can take this pain much longer

Could be fybrosis. It's a fairly common problem in women--something like 60% experience it to some degree during their lifetime. I've had it but not that bad. A good friend of mine, on the other hand, had cysts so painful she had to have them surgically removed.

But at this point your gyno is the only person who can give you an accurate diagnosis.

I have suffered with the same thing so I know how painful it can be. How old are you Leslie?

I started having 'bouts' of painful breasts at age 40. It comes and it goes. My GYN tells me it is hormonal. I have never sought any drug therapies. One substance that will aggravate it is caffeine so if you are a coffee drinker or eat alot of chocolate...try to eliminate that stuff when your breasts are tender and sore.

I don't eat soy products either. Besides being painful my breasts actually will swell slightly and be enlarged...making the pain even worse. It's awful to have to go through this. I always sleep with a bra on because I can't stand to have them unsupported as that makes the pain even worse...showering can be very difficult at times. When I'm in alot of pain I will take baths instead so the water isn't hitting me.

I also have to factor in that fibroids run in my family and my gyn thinks that's why I have this trouble. I don't have fibroids...but this painful breast syndrome is no picnic either.

This is really interesting. Every few cycles I have a month in which PMS symptoms are so bad they mimic early pregnancy (and thus, I panic, lol). This includes really swollen and sore breasts. Hmm. Something to speak to the gyn about, I'm sure.

Let us know what you find out and I hope you feel better soon!

Marie

Those are really great things but I am not a huge coffee drinker, I have one cup a day and NO chocolate at all and if I do eat some it is like once a week that I eat chocolate, it feels like needles are shooting through my breasts and been pretty steady for several months with NO relief from periods. Right side is way worse than the left side. I wish there was a way to get SOME relief from the pain, I tried to wear a sports bra but that didn't help at all. made the hurt more so I took it off. I got a call in to the doctor and waiting on a call back to get some blood work to see if my hormones are off or something simple like that.
