Really looking forward to Stretch Max

I'm finding I really love/need to stretch more these days...I just did Leaner Legs this morning and tacked on ALC II, just the stretch & flexibility chapter (16 minutes) at the end...felt great (I love ALC II). Anyway, I think Stretch Max is going to be fantastic stretch work (it HAS to be, coming from Cathe!), and I just can't wait for it (along with all the other Hardcores, of course!)! :)

I am really looking forward to it too. I have been using Janis Saffell's Dynamic stretch and Donna Read's yoga as add ons right now. They are great, but I can't wait to do Cathe's!! I like the variety with the ball and band. I think Cathe's will be a nice addition.

Aila:)

Me, too.

I've been doing Janis Saffell's stretch workout too -- and I love it -- but I'm really looking forward to Cathe's.

Hi Aila and Karen Kay :) Okay, you guys have got my interest piqued on this Janis Saffel stretch workout! lol...Is this one an hour or shorter? Is it sort of like Angles, Lines & Curves (fusion-type) or more strictly stretch oriented? I'm so weak when it comes to new workouts these days! :)

I really like Janis's workout. It's about a half hour and has two parts..Standing and Floor. I have never done Angles,Lines & Curves, so I wouldn't know. It's very stretch oriented and has a little bit of a yoga flare IMO. I like it because it's short and I feel really stretched when I am done. I highly recommend it!!

Aila:)

Thanks, Aila! :) I just went to Collage and checked out a clip...you're right, it does look good! Price doesn't look bad, either (helps me justify buying yet anOTHER workout), lol!

Terry Mia, how do you like AL&C2? I absolutely ADORE it!!! I've always liked Kari, and I'm so glad she made this workout!!

Aila, I haven't tried that one of Janis's yet. Would you say it's similar to Kari Anderson's "Angles, Lines & Curves II"? I love Janis's "Brand New Butt and More", and "Brand New Butt Plus Pilates"!! Thanks in advance!

Aila, just saw you already answer my question in a post to someone else. Thanks!!

Hi Carol! :) I really love it too! Funny thing is, I've had it for several months and really just started getting into it lately...maybe because I'm finding myself more sore these days and needing it! lol I even use the short segments as tack-ons to other workouts...especially the stretch & flexibility one that's 16 minutes...feels great after a toughie like Leaner Legs or BC or something...anyway, glad you like it too! Btw, I just got ALC I also (it's only on VHS, not DVD)...this is a good one too, but I think I like ALC II more. I like Kari too, but this was the first time I've gotten anything of hers! :)

Hope you're having a great T-Day! :)))

Thanks, Terry Mia! I haven't used the segments as add-ons yet, but that would be a great idea! I've only done it in it's entirety, which doesn't even feel like an hour because it's so gentle, you know?

I had a great Turkey Day - hope you did too!!

Carol
:)

Carol - yeah, it really is a gentle one...I always try to emulate her gracefulness...I'm imagining I'm executing the moves as fluidly as she is, which may or may not always be true, lol! In any case, I really like the uniqueness of it! (glad you had a great T-Day! Me too, though still feel full!) :)

Ok..Now you both have me wanting to try ALC!! I was just thinking to myself that I have enough yoga and stretch workouts for now..until this thread came along:eek: !! I watched a clip of ALC II and had a question. Is it more of a balance/flexibity/stretch workout or is there toning also?? I really am not looking for any more toning dvd's and prefer only a stretch oriented workout.

Aila:)

Hi Aila! It really is a keeper! It's a fusion-type workout, so it sort of combines Pilates-type moves with graceful stretch-type moves, but there is some toning in it...some of it is actually a bit tough...but it all moves so fluidly, and all in all it feels pretty gentle on the ole bod! :) The music is just great in it...very relaxing and suits the workout perfectly. I'm trying to find ways to fit it in more because I really feel refreshed when I'm through. The first ALC is more stretch-oriented without the toning aspect of ALC II, I believe, and it IS good also. It only comes on VHS, though, and ALC II is on either VHS or DVD, and as I posted above, with the DVD she's got 2 short "premixes," one 16 minutes (that I've been using a lot) and the other one 12 minutes (the whole workout is an hour).

The toning parts are done via isometric contractions, Aila. There are no weights used, and the entire thing is done with Kari and the background exercisers barefoot. Plus, they all look as though they have a dance background, so visually it's pleasing no matter who you're watching.
