Really Dumb Question

Hey Amy, if you want to find out what snow sounds like, come out here after Christmas to spend the winter and I'll go live in Cali for a while! NO PROBLEM! :p

>The cars make a big crashing sound when they slide on the ice
>into things like trees and other cars.

Or your mailbox! That's what happened yesterday when I was at the bus stop with my kids. Thankfully, I was a driveway over from ours. I don't even want to think about could have happened if we were standing at my driveway.

I'm looking out my window right now and love how the snow looks on the trees, grass, etc. I don't like that it was 10 degrees and standing at the bus stop at 7:20A! ;-)

I LOVE the first snow of the season (about 2 weeks ago where we are)...It means I cancel my appointments, get out all of our snowman stuff, put on a BIG pot of chile, and make cornbread....It's a tradition at our house!

I don't hear the snow (it's snowing right now) but there is a certain quiet that is there - I always find it kind of comforting. The sounds I do hear is when it's melting and big chunks slide off the trees and roof.

No you can't hear snow but it is so peacefull. I love the crisp smell of it. Enjoy your trip. I think it would be wonderful to see snow for the first time.

>In CA, everyone just tries to mimic snow with cotton or other
>stuff. I don't think they're coming even close!!

Nope, better to use freezer burn!

I have never seen snow in person (just in movies and pictures). I usually travel in the summer and we don't get snow in here. It is definitely one of those things that I want to do in the future. I hope you have fun at the mountains. :)

Amy,

Don't listen to them! You guys should write romance novels and maybe add Fabio in a parka opened to show off his chest--ewwww!

I think snow is pretty to watch from your window with hot cocoa and a furnace or fireplace nearby, but after that----yuck! Everything takes longer in the winter--driving, bundling up, finding your other glove and then you feel like the Michelon(sp?) man when you go outside, but you still get cold. Oh and if you have to scrape the frost or ice from your window---forgetaboutit!

Can you tell I grew up in the Midwest?
