"Real" New Millenium Goals & A Big Thanks to All of You!!!

Goals

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
My goals for this new year is to:
1) keep my diet clean and low in carbs
2) workout 6days a week
3) keep up w/ my school work
and last but not least, stay mentally motivated. When thats down, nothing works and none of my goals get completed.

RE: Lisa - can I copy yours?

Hey Erica..of course you can copy my goals.

It's good to know I'm not alone in these battles. When you read through this and the VF forum, it seems like these goals are more or less universal.

So far this week, I'm doing fine on the "not overdoing my workouts" goal...at least I haven't done any double cardio days (that always feels a little excessive to my body). BUT, the clean eating, well what can I say...tomorrow's another day, right x(?

WE CAN DO IT!! (and we've got the forums for support whenever we might need it).

Take care,
Lisa

Mine is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT!!

i have a 6 year old pasofino horse that I bought in October. I want to train him to be a safe partner and very rideable.

My 79 year old Dad is also moving; my goal is that he should be in his new house by march 1 and happy there....

Plus, to turn 50 with approximately the same body I have now. (I'm 49.) ha-ha.

What's a Pasofino?

A show horse? I'm picturing you in formal riding gear in a dressage event - yes, I'm clueless. But with a steed called "Pasofino" surely you're not out there in dirty jeans & a sweatshirt?

RE: This was in my pre-Cathe days....

HB, what can I say? I just read your post today(it's been a long week!!) and it made me smile!! You're right!! I can do it!! My doc gets in his office in 10 min. and I'm going to call to set up an appt. to get a complete checkup and use whatever he perscribes is best for me to kick this habit once and for all!!

Thanks for the encouragement and I will keep you posted!! BTW, never got to go shopping, my brother in law showed up with his 3 kids and stayed until 11:00p.m., besides, maybe getting my doc's advice will be better than just going it alone and hoping I'm doing it right!!

Thanks again!!!!!

Aimee

RE: What's a Pasofino?

HE IS MY 6 YEAR OLD BABY BOY GAITED HORSE. Paso fino is spanish for "fine step." They don't "roll" like an American quarterhorse; they step evenly from side to side so you do not feel it.

Ha-ha. he is my "project." Indeed, i am in ski suit, no make-up, fleece hat and super gloves these cold, cold days to even han dle him. No dressage, no shows--just me and Echo.

Thanks for asking!!

Smart move...

...to go to the Doc. Things have changed since 1992, so Zyban may be the way to go. There's no need to go cold turkey with these helps they have, and it makes it a LOT easier.

Good luck. :D

Your boy sounds beautiful!

Thanks for explaining. Neat name too!

WOW! Great Goals - Oh, & One More For Me

Thanks to all of you for taking the time to respond and share your thoughts about the coming year. Your ideas are very inspirational and I'm going to steal many of them.

Aimee - I quit smoking 16 years ago, if I can do it, you CERTAINLY can. Besides, think of how many Cathe videos/DVD's you can buy with the money you'll save!

One more goal to add to my list - I want to see the Northern Lights.

Thanks again and happy, happy new year to all of you!

Oh, I Forgot - "New" Flexibility Videos

Hey DebbieH:

With regard to our mutual goal of greater flexibility, I ordered (and hope to receive today) two new videos (based on recommendations from the educated crowd here) the Yoga Zone's Conditioning and Stress Release and the Ali McGraw Yoga Mind and Body. If you haven't already tried them, I'll let you know my experience with them. And, if you have any others you'd recommend, I'd love to hear it.

Congrats again on the scissors. You've inspired me to work harder.

JanetH

Thanks Janet!

Your 2nd. ACCIDENTAL post was too funny! I am particularly interested in what you think of the Ali McGraw tape. Let me know. I picked up a tape called "Strength & Grace" by Minna Lessig which has some flexibility stretches in it. I did it today AFTER IMax and it did feel real good. (Course, ANYTHING you can breathe in AFTER IMax, would feel good. ;-)) It is Yoga & Pilates inspired so it was kind of fun doing something different. I felt like it really stretched my legs out good so I'll let you know how tight I feel later!! I wish I could suggest some others for you but I am not one to take the time I need to be more flexibile. I guess after hearing all the pros about it's benefits, I am TRYING real hard to put it into my schedule. I'll be waiting to hear your reviews of your new tapes. AND...Go, Go, Go on those scissors!:-jumpy Your-Friend-In-Fitness, DebbieH :)
