Question, I am getting my Jungle Jam /P90X Chin Up Bar from Beach Body installed tomorrow, and I was just wondering if anyone have this or use this in they apartment. It seems to be sturdy but……Beach Body claims it hold a person weighing up to 300 lbs I’m no were near that. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone have this product and if you have any problems with it. I live in a apartment and would hate to rip up the wall. Thank you.

I don't know about this particular chin up bar, but we have one we got cheap ($20) from Dick's Sporting Goods that also claims to hold 300 pounds ("when properly installed") - it holds my husband just fine and he's 210 lbs. It seems pretty sturdy! :D

Thank you. Do you live in apartment? The wall seems a little ifie. But, I'm going to have him install it anyway. Thank you so much.

No, we own our house. Our chin up bar is installed in a doorway, which is pretty sturdy. Sounds like your chin up bar will be installed on the wall, so it will need to be screwed into the wall studs. If you've got a professional coming to install it, he should know this. You should watch him and make sure he does find the studs. If it's just screwed into the drywall, it won't support ANY weight. Wall studs can support a LOT of weight though, so if he does it right, you'll be good to go. :)

Hm...so you can put these things in the wall? Rather than the doorway? Is there enough clearance to do pull ups when they are installed in the wall? I live in a house and use a spare bedroom but I don't want to hang in my doorway and do pull ups for various reasons, one of which is I won't be able to see the tv from there.

Thank you, I'm having it installed in my workout room, which is my 2nd bedroom. Not sure if there are studs over the door area or not, if he doesn't find any studs then I'm not going to let him install it. Man oh man, I could see building management now if the wall was to crash down, eek.

Hi Jen,

Not the wall itself but over the door. The door has to have a wood trim in order to attach it. If you need to see how it looks go to beachbody, under equipment click on push up bar. Thank you.
