?? re CTX Step & Intervals

Hey, Cathe-ites! Now that I've gotten "2001 - A Cathe Odyssey", of course now all I can think about is what other Cathe Tapes I can add to The Aerobic Collection.

Question: how similar, or dissimilar, is the CTX Step & Intervals workout to the Interval Max workout? I absolutely adore I-Max, especially the heavy-duty plyo drills (vertical jumps in place, plyo jacks, power scissors, airborne jacks, etc.) and I'm a closet addict of interval training. Could anyone give me any feedback who's used both workouts? I know I'd have to get it second-hand, because the CTX videos are sold as a set, but I'd like some "reviews" before I go to the effort.

Thanks!

Annette

Step and Intervals is much much easier than I-Max. It has some fun step for about 15-20 minutes, good but not killer stuff, and then it has 3 intervals, none of which seem as bad as I-Max, maybe the first one which is a bunch of plyo-jacks. I like it, but it is short and I do not consider it to be a "tough day" workout.

Annette, I totally agree with Mogambo. I like it for days when I want to do some weight work and usually add on the weights from another CTX. I am planning on adding on a S and H to these CTX cardios. It is a short and fun workout, but the intervals are shorter and a lot easier I think--and only three of them. I really like the music on the final one.

Here's an idea for you: do Step & Intervals twice back-to-back for a tough workout! I did this once (for kicks) and thought it was close to the intensity of MIC (in my opinion). When I did it back-to-back, I did 2 warmups and 2 cooldowns because my heart rate was way up there after finishing it the first time through. SNI is only 3 intervals total (compared to 10 with IMAX) but I did 6 by doing it twice and with all the stepping inbetween, it kept my heartrate soaring!:-wow
