Raw/Cooked calorie difference

MAYNARDSMOM

Cathlete
I cooked some ground chicken for lunch today & when I looked at the nutrtion information it has the following:

Raw weight 4 oz
cooked weight 3 oz

Calories - 180/raw 220/cooked weight

How can it gain 40 calories from cooking. I would understand if the weight was the same for both but they are taking that into account? I'm stumped

Are they specifying how it was cooked? Maybe if there was oil involved or something then I could see the calories going up, or like you said if the ounces were the same. But if it's raw vs dry grilled the numbers don't make sense.

I would just weigh out the raw meat to 4oz and use that.
