Question re: CF and TTM Extreme Premixes

Cathlete
Cathe,

I LOVE CrossFire and To the Max! My only problem is that I want to do the "Extreme" premix every time I do these workouts because I don't want to miss any of the sections--they're all so fabulous and 'drop sweatlet' fun. But then I wonder if there was a particular reason you kept the original program under 60 minutes. Is there an advantage to keeping the workout a bit shorter?

Thanks,

Extreme/ Longer premix

It all depend on preferences and fitness goal set.

Some people do not necessarily aim at loosing body fat therefore do not really need much cardio sessions. Also average length to workout efficiently is an hour. After an hour the level of hormone your body need to workout efficiently start dropping!
TTM extreme is just over an hour which is not too bad! I would do this as a one off not on a regular basis.

Cathe, IMO, has kept the session for 60 because it is the average length.
Compared to other dvd on the market, cardio session last 45 minutes. It is the reasonable length enabling anyone having cardio plus weight.

Hope this answer the question!

And there have been multiple requests for workouts that last under an hour. I think she covered everyone in these two DVDs with the incredible number of premixes.

under an hour workout

Yes Many have requested to have less than a hour workout because scientifically an hour is a maximum, plus some prefer and/or need to have both weight and cardio.

My preferences are circuit training, Hiit, and weight. I would rather spend a week playing with my weight toy than a week of full cardio! I never used to enjoy cardio as such before discovering cathe!

True, but with warmup, cooldown, and abs, the cardio portion is still under an hour. I was wondering, however, if it's too much on a regular basis.

I also wanted to ask Cathe about including Plyo Tabata twice in CRF Extreme. I wondered if there was a purpose for this (besides making us work very hard).;) It's also killer because the Firewalker Tabata is last--very evil on fried legs!
