Question @ Lifting Weights

If I do an upper body workout(ie BodyMax 2) but the next day I'm not sore, can/should I work that area again? I hit failure on the exercises the first day, but at the very end of each body part. If I'd went heavier I couldn't have completed the reps. However, I don't feel like I got a good upper body workout. How should I modify?
Thanks!

If you hit failure at the end of each body part, then you did just fine. Your body needs recovery as much as the work itself in order to build muscle. Instead of upper body today, work lower body, or do cardio (a boxing/kickboxing workout will cover cardio, and also promote some upper body toning).

Kathryn, I notice you answer a lot of the ? posted, I was wom=ndering, are you in the medical or exercise field????????????????

You might also considering going up in weight for your first set, then back down for the other set(s).

For example, if you are currently using 8 lbs. for an exercise, try using 10 pounds for your first set, then for sets 2 and 3, go back down to 8 pounds.
