Question for the "educated crowd"

Hi ladies, just a quick question for you. I have about 1 handful of fat on each back upper thigh to lose, (sorry for the picture, not quiet sure of quantifying this in pounds) I'm very tall and thin, and have trouble gaining muscle, but I am in pretty good shape muscle wise. So I want to be more tone especially in my legs, I'm wondering if I don't have all that much fat to lose would it be a good idea to up my weight training days. I enjoy weight training more. I've been alternating cardio with mis and PS about 4-5 days a week. What would happen if I did less cardio and more weights? my eating isn't perfect, but I'm a veggie and am careful to have enough protein. So what do you think what would be the best approach. I'm finally getting cathe's new stuff, I ordered the 23 DVD pack. I can't tell you how excited I am, in fact, I don't remember being this excited over something ;)

thanks,
Amy

Hi, Amy, you are going to love the DVD's! While I would always tell anyone who has a plan formulating to try it and see how it works, I'd like to pass on a bit of information. I too am pretty thin and unmuscular. Long-limbed and lean-ish, I have about 3 handfuls of fat I am working on in the ab area. Increasing strength training, and subsequently, increasing muscle mass and metabolic rate will indeed reduce the fat on your body. However, since it is fat, I think you would get more bang for your buck, if you increased cardio because ultimately, fat needs to be burned and cardio does that best.

A couple of months ago I started using http://www.Fitday.com to record every morsel I ate. Along with regular exercise, I painlessly dropped 7 pounds. I intend to drop a few more, yep, those 3 sitting on my abs! Cleaning up my diet and really focusing on balancing it made the most difference I found!

Good luck and tell us how it all works out for you!
