Question for RT coordinators about Friday...

Hello! I just got an e-mail that the airline is changing my flight time so I won't arrive in Philly until 5:05 pm on Friday. Can I come late to the Meet and Greet? I don't want to miss this!!! To change flights will cost me $450, yikes.:-( Thanks for your help! Sandy

Question for you. How much time did your arrival time into Philly change? If it's at least 30 minutes or more, you most likely can fight with the airline to change your flight for free. However, you need to stay firm with this. YOU did not change the arrival time into Philly; they did. If you wanted to arrive at a later time, then you would have selected a later arrival time. If the airline agent gives you a hard time (if it's US Airways, they may), then ask to talk to a Supervisor. Don't get off the phone until they change it for you for free. I've done this many times and its worked.

Lorrayne, Thanks for your advice, I agree, it makes me really mad. I am a first timer for all of this so I am not sure what I am doing. My original arrival time is 3:20pm, so its an hour and 40 minutes later, not accepatable. I am going to try and do as you say, though I did go through Cheaptickets.com, so I hope this works. You may need to review the rules of your tickets that you booked through cheaptickets.com. I've never booked through them so am not sure of the rules to protect you as a consumer. You may need to contact them directly instead of the airlines. I would find out why they changed your itinerary without your approval. I would still insist that they should change your flight back to the times you had booked.

Kathy, Thank you very much this makes me feel so much better. I actually did call them but they insist I pay $150 per person to change or cancel. But thanks for letting me know I still can come, I figured it would be pretty easy to catch a cab from the hotel, Yay!! Thanks to you and to Lorrayne for your help!!:) Sandy
