Question for hair stylist or anybody

Cathlete
We will be going to San Diego in about 4 weeks and I'm schedule for my hair appointment for highlights hair cut and style on the day we leave to San Diego. I tend to schedule an appointment everytime we go to San Diego so that I won't have to hassle with my hair but being we are in San Diego my hair always gets frizzy (so much for my style) and I'm always worried about my highlights getting faded. Should I pospone my appointment till after I'm back that way I don't have to worry about my highlights getting faded? I do have a natural wave in my hair can anyone recomend over the counter products that will enhance my natural curls so that I won't have to worry about straighting my hair while i'm thre. Thanks!

Hi,

I would love to see some input on this one! I too have wavy hair that frizzes when I go to places like Mexico etc...

I have long thick highlighted hair that frizzes real bad in hot humid weather. I finally found a product that works for me after a lot of years. Frederick Fekkai sp? Or Frizz by LIving Proof. All of the products of Sephora.com

Samy Big Curls

Hi -

I come from a family of stylists! My hair is naturally curly, but I have straightened it for so long, that it dries almost straight.

How long is your trip going to be? A week or 2 weeks in the sun won't dull highlihgts, it will lighten them. Chlorine will turn them green depending on the bleach and how light you are. I am now platinum blonde with highlights and I spend a lot of time in the sun, and my color doesnt fade.

When I do want curls and no frizz, the only product that has EVER worked is:

SAMY Big Curls curl defining cream ($5.99)

Here is the link for Walgreens:

When I leave it straight and I want to avoid frizz, I use:
Aveda Control Paste ($22)and there is no frizz!

Hi thank you all for your great tips!
For the Sammy big Curls can I apply product and just let my hair air dry or do I need to use a difisur? For the Aveda Control paste do I apply before or after I style my hair? I would always make sure I tell my stylist I was going to the beach wonder why she never added anything along those lines. I also wonder if the flat iron would help for later on in the evening wheh we go out to dinner. Thanks Again!

Samy and Aveda

Hi Lourdes -

I always use Infusion Leave in hair conditioner when I get out of the shower. I have been using it for about 10 years, and I think it goes a long way as to why my hair is so manageable.

For Samy I put that in after the leave in conditioner and then I let it air dry. I have used diffusers before, but I find they makes my hair frizzy.

With the Aveda, I use it after my hair is dry and straight and you only need a little bit on your fingertips. I use it to smooth my hair and style it how I want. Don't use to much or it will look greasy because it is like a wax.

Oh, and I only wash my hair every other day, otherwise it gets dried out.

Question again about hair product

Hello,

Once again thank you all for all your tips. I have one more question as I mention I will be going to San Diego and would like a no hassle wash and go hairstyle, will the products mention above give the beach tousle wavy look? If not does anybody now of inexpensive over the counter product that will be me that beach wavy look wiouth having to do much to my hair? If theres one thing I hate about traveling is having to have to mess with my hair that's why I always try to go to my stylist before I leave, I share a room with my 5 boys and my husband and it's alway's hard to get anytime to do those sort of things, so this time I'm determine not worry about my hair and try doing a wash and go since I do have some loose curl to my hair but I would like to try it before I go on my trip. Thank you again!

Hi Lourdes -
Stick with the Samy, I just put it in my hair and walk out the door.

Hi,

Just thanking you for product advice, I use the Sammy brand and I got soft beutiful natural wave to my hair. I'ts been a time saver for me, I cant believe I hadent done this before! I have discover 2 tools that will make my life alot easier for those day's when I'm in a rush the flat iron and the curl enhancers. You will not beleive how this two tools will come in handy when we have to be out the door by 5:30-6am to get to the soccer fields. Thank you once again!

Lourdes

P.S. I only wash my hair 2 times a week, I stay home so I'm able to go longer. Trying to keep my higlights from fading it's such in expensive habbit!
