Question for anyone.

Although my husband and I still have not decided for sure if we are gonna try for a second child, I was just interested in knowing how long it took most of you to get pregnant (after coming off the birth control pill). In particular, if you have been on the pill for 15 years (except for one year of pregnancy)like myself, I am interested in your response. I have read that the longer you're on the pill, the longer it will take to become pregnant (that's just what I have read, I don't know if it's true). Thanks for your help.

Well I was on it for about two years this time (this pregnancy is number three) and it took me 7 months of ACTIVE trying....in fact the day we must have gotten pregnant was the day I said "forget it God has other plans" lol.

I'm probably not the norm

I had the Norplant removed and went without Birth Control for a year. (we were especially careful during "hot" times during the month) A book I strongly suggest wether you are trying or wanting to wait is...

May was the month we decided to try and we got it on the first try! "My husband was quite pleased that his boys can swim!" )

This book is fantastic. It explains all about our reproductive system and answers many questions you probably hadn't even thought of yet. It explains what is normal. The pictures are great!

birth control pills

When we had our son, I had been on the pill for 7 or 8 years. I got pregnant the first month I was off the pill! My DH was a little disappointed that it happened so fast. LOL! I've had friends who have gotten pregnant the first month also. But I've also had a friend who took 6-8 months to get pregnant both times she went off the pill. I would guess that my friends' had all been on the pill 7-10 years.
