question/comment about the basic step video

i got the basic step dvd. it came with the step platform i bought. did anyone else find that "basic" did not equal "beginner" ? I have never done step before, and where the moves don't look difficult, the dvd moves quickly. there is no slow dispaly or explanation of basic moves, like in some fitness videos. it just jumps into the fast paced movements. i quit after 3 minutes. it is clearly one of those videos that i will have to watch four or five times before i can keep up. did anyone else have a similar experience?

Hi! Don't give up just yet. I had done other very beginner step workouts before, but because I'm seriously out of shape, I found that Basic Step's pace was a little fast. It took me three tries before I stopped tripping on my own feet. By the fourth time, I could keep up with the workout and I wasn't so overwhelmed. I think by the 6th time I did it, I felt I could push myself harder and actually started doing the workout using an 8 inch platform. YOU CAN DO IT!!

I previewed a bunch of times and still fumbled/tripped my way through the first few times. Well worth it, though, because I am now attempting low max and recognize steps due to mastering basic step and body fusion first. It took 6-7x for me to be comfortable on the step even with this "basic" video. Keep at it!
