question about weighted vest

I was just wondering what weighted vest does? Do you use it for legs exercise? Or can you use it to do aerobics? If so, how does it work? Is it the same as using barbells or dumbells while doing leg excercise. Does anyone have any recommendation which brand is good? Thanks so much.

You can use the vest for leg work when you don't want to pile more weight on your BB. You can also walk with it or use other aerobic machines. It just adds a bit of extra hmph! I have Cathe's vest and for me, it is enough b/c I have a squat rack so i don't worry about hefting anything up and over my head. I do like it for aerobic work on the machines - I would never consider it for KB or step - it doesn't feel like much at first, but you will know it once you get going. There are some good heavier ones, and a few threads on them here; people have their faves, depending on what you want to use it for.
 
I wore the X vest for all of B&G's standing leg work earlier this week. WOWIE, what a difference that extra 10# made! I did the work out early in the morning and was already DOMS'ing by that evening! I did it on Friday and I STILL have a bit of risidual soreness in my glutes from it!:eek:
