Question about the step

Hi there, I am currently doing Beachbody's Slim Series, with a 32 pound weight loss so far. Although, I am bored with it now after doing it for almost a year. I am looking for something new an I am torn between The Transfirmer and these videos. My question is, if I go with the Firm fist, would I be able to use the Transfirmer step that comes with that to do Cathe videos? Or am I going to have to get a "real" step to do these workouts. My thinking is that The Transfirmer would be a good introduction to Step, then I could move up to Cathe videos. Once I get good at step.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Kara.

I wouldn't waste money on the Transfirmer...The Step is much better quality and will last and work for everything. It'd probably save you money in the long run to invest in a good step. I would go with Cathe for sure...but I think you'd get that answer from everyone here. (Cathe does have a beginners package including a smaller home step and a bunch of DVDs avaliable at Target.)

I'd still go with the original step instead of the small step with DVD sold at Target. I started off with a small step and can't tell you how many times I fell. The bigger original step is better and sturdier so save yourself the money and just buy big to begin with. Just my opinion. :7

I actually was really disappointed with the step that came with the videos at Target. It's too small and I don't feel like I have enough space to really jump around and do the workout right. My 9-year-old daughter uses it. Since I already had the Transfirmer from the Firm videos I've been using it for my Cathe videos. It's a little smaller than the step Cathe uses, but it's a lot bigger than the Target one. I've been working out for close to 3 years and I do about half Cathe and half Firm. I'm not quite advanced enough to do all Cathe all the time. The Firm's choreography is pretty basic in comparison to Cathe but it's not boring and it's nice for the choreography challenged like me. I'm actually not a huge fan of the Transfirmer videos. They're alright but the BSS2 videos (the ones with the fanny lifter and the stick) are better. If you're new to step, I would totally recommend those ones. If it were me, I would pick up a high step (instead of a fanny lifter) and the Firm's BSS2 videos (you don't really need the stick, you can just use some dumbells) and also the basic step/body fusion/low impact step/etc set from Target (or the canadian equivalent.) That'll give you 7 solidly intermediate videos to work with. Then when your ready for more advanced videos, get yourself the bigger (non-target) step. I love Cathe, it's my goal to get to the point where I can do all Cathe all the time but she doesn't have a lot of variety when it comes to intermediate videos.
