Question about the presale

Hi Cathe and SNM,

A couple of questions regarding the presale...

I'm sure you realize that there has been a fair amount of discussion regarding the timing of this presale, and was hoping that if you would clarify your general thoughts about presales this might help many folks who are distressed about all of this.

It seems that from the general thrust of your first posting, most assumed that these first four workouts were to be sort of a fall schedule - looks like that has kicked out now since filming has not yet begun. In general, do you think that there is a reasonable amount of time that the investor of a presale product should expect the final product - six, eight, ten months? Any ball park figure might help, but to be indefinite about this I think makes people a bit uncomfortable. Therefore, if you could give us a time frame in which you think presale investments should reasonably sit in your bank account prior to delivery of the promised product would be very helpful.

And in this vein, do you think that in this presale venue, that if production were delayed beyond some specified period of time, that folks should be compensated somehow, if the product was not delivered in such timely fashion? It seems that in most other businesses, you aren't charged until the goods are delivered, or there is some deadline if you are an investor.

I am really interested in your views regarding this, as this has always been fairly ill-defined in the exercise video business. Thanks for any light you could shed on this matter, and best wishes for the upcoming filming ...

Cheers,
Colia :)

We've seen all kinds of incorrect reports about the presale DVDs not being released until April or even late spring and I think this has caused some people to be over concerned. If the DVDs are delayed it will only be a few weeks. There are 4 phases to any new production: #1 filming #2 editing #3 authoring and #4 duplication. Though filming has been delayed a few weeks we can certainly and hopefully will make up time in the other 3 phases. We never guarantee a release date on any of our presales. As with any company releasing a new product there can always be unexpected problems or delays. The current DVD presale will not take us any longer to produce than most of our other presales we have had in the past. In fact it will probably be quicker. As an example, the Hardcore presale started on July 4th and the DVDs were not released until January. We don’t expect the current presale DVDs to take anywhere near as long as the Hardcore series to complete and ship.

There are many reasons why our customers preorder, but the main one is to take advantage of some very large discounts. Most companies that have presales only offer a few dollars off for ordering a little early. Our presales last a little longer, but our discounts are also much larger. As with any fair business transaction both parties have to give and take. With our presales you have to pay and wait but you also get two things – a big discount and some wonderful DVDs. If you’re expecting anything more than this, then you should definitely not preorder.

Finally, there really is no reason for any customer to feel frustrated or cheated. If you’re not happy with your presale order just email us and we will promptly cancel your order and refund your money.

Thank you for addressing this matter. Speaking for myself, the waiting time is worth the discount. I would be disappointed if the bigger discounts went away in exchange for a shorter waiting time.

I'm getting older and I need every dollar I can save for my golden years :D

SNM- Just one more request,

Is there any way that you could sticky a closed thread to the top of the forum with all of your replies and updates to the presale? It would be nice if it was limited to only your postings for easier viewing. This way we wouldn't miss anything.

TIA,
jordan

Well , most of us are willing to wait and don't have a problem with it.
A little bit anxious, yes, but I will live.
Tell Cathe,
Take your time.
Make them good.
I am sure they will all be pleased with the final results.
Patience folks.
Remember this is Christmas too.
HAppy holisdays.

Yes, I agree. I've ordered many Cathe videos and dvds and any and all problems have been addressed and taken care of in a timely fashion; if there were any. This is the first pre-sale I've taken part in. I figured, I have a receit(spelling?) and when they come out, they come out. I have plenty of other cathe workouts to do in the mean time. I am the first one to want immediate gratification, but on some things, like a Cathe workout, it is worth it to wait. She and SNM have been upfront about each step, and the process and told us at the presale filming has not yet been started. In fact, I got the idea she had just come up with the ideas for the work outs and then started the presale. Take a deep breath and enjoy the holidays. Sometime in the begining of the new year we get another present,a new Cathe dvd! What could be better!:)

thank you...

i think the lack of information, answering questions and updates is what caused all the uproar.... i think most of us are willing to wait.. but want to be kept informed along the way!

Hi everyone -- Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays!

I'm excited for Cathe's newest DVD series, and I'm extremely confident they'll be stellar, as always. :)

As I read the posts about the presale I must admit I don't understand the worry -- except maybe for first-timers or newbies.

Cathe's reputation speaks for itself, really.

So many of us have done presales with her before. Cathe is totally trustworthy. When she knows they're good-to-go they will be. She's a known entity with a healthy track record. She's working very hard, I have no doubt. :)

I don't know how she does it all!

Blessings and a wonderful weekend to you all. :D

Dear SNM

I think you have explained this issue very well. Speaking as one customer that has alway appreciated the presale and excellent savings, I really hope people will now STOP COMPLAINING and WHINING about this and other presales. I believe it is only the vocal few that are complaining and making such a big deal of this presale. The majority of us, I am sure, understand how the presale works and are happily waiting the quality product we know will come from the presale.

Thanks again for clearing up this issue, Helen

I think the people "complaining and whining" do understand how the presale works. The concern is the lack of updates when things are running behind. I don't understand why expecting an update is considered making a big deal about something. These workouts were supposed to be produced in the fall and that isn't going to happen. I think it is our right, as consumers, to be informed of the delay.
