Question about STS

Hi Cathe!

I'm getting ready to begin STS and wanted to know what my caloric intake should be to maximize my wokout. My goal is to obtain lean muscle mass and eliminate the excess body fat. I'm 42 years old, 5'5" and approximately 120 lbs. I know that probably sounds in line, but there are some areas that give me trouble. I know with a proper caloric intake and a great program like STS will give me the tools I need to help me accomplish my fitness goal.

Again, thank you for all you do for helping me maintain healthy and happy lifestyle.

I would get your body fat percentage tested first. Then from that you can figure out how many pounds of fat you actually have. Then determine how much fat you want to lose. Each pound of fat is equal to 3500 calories. I would highly recommmend calculating your calorie requirements baased on your lean muscle mass. Then cut back your calories by about 15-20% of that number. Start off with 50 carb/30 protein and 20 percent fat. You can always adjust but this would be a good baseline to start with. You will need to track your bady fat percentage to make sure you are not losing lean muscle mass. Acculine makes a great clalipher and would be worht the investment.

I have read Tom Venuto's burn the fat feed the muscle and swear by it. It is perfect for someone like yourself who is not over weight but wants to lose fat and build or at least not lose your muscle.

Oopps I forgot to mention that I am not Cathe obviously, but wanted to share my info with you. Sometimes it can take a while to get a response. Anyway, that's my 2 cents.
