QUESTION ABOUT POSSIBLY OVERTRAINING....

I only have 3-4 days a week to workout, but I have time to get in a cardio (boot camp, kick punch crunch, etc) and one weight session (pub, s&h, etc)together (one after the other). Do you think this is ok, or do you think it is overtraining? I have not had any pain, difficulty or any problems doing it this way, but my husband said this may be over doing it. I have been doing this for about 3 weeks so far. I used to get to do one workout a day, but my schedule is crazy now during the week. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

joanna

No, I do not think this is either over-training or would lead to it. Over-training would be to train like this every day without rests or breaks. You are simply maximizing the time you do have and I can quite understand it. If you feel good, where's the problem? Maybe your husband is just "worried" about you because on those three days when you are more interested in Cathe than in him, he feels a bit neglected and wants your attention?!?!?

LOL.....husband I think is jealous of Cathe...but he is at work when I workout now. Thanks for the input. I dont feel overworked, but just wanted some opinions. Thanks

Hi Joanna,

I do cardio and strength back to back a few times a week. If you are feeling okay, I think it is just fine. It works for me.

If you were overtraining, you would feel exhausted, unmotivated, and not have enough energy to complete your sessions.

I think your schedule sounds good, but you might want to mix it up a bit (rotate in other workouts) so that you are shocking the system a bit...

Good luck!

Cheers,
Marie
