Please help me out with this ladies...:)

Leaner Legs and Legs and Glutes....what type of work outs are they? Endurance or Strength? I'm thinking endurance...am I right? And endurance training....defines/tones muscle? And strength training...builds muscle? I need to get this straight in my head! I'm so confused! lol:+

So now what's the best overall combination of strength and endurance training to have in one's work out schedule?? I'm looking for the overall best results.

Thanks for the help!

Have a great work out!

You are right endurance for them both. And your definitions are correct too.

You can do a week of endurance followed by a rotation with strength. As long as you do both at some point in time you will see results. For upper body (not this week per se) I have been doing both endurance and strength during one workout. Using Pyramids and CTX upper body. I am not as diligent with my legs right now til I get my toe looked at.:(

Hope that helped you some!!:7

Thanks Annette! That was a big help!

So I am thinking that pyramids are strength and ctx upper body is endurance. Okay, cool! Now I can work on my new rotation coming up at the end of the month!;-)

Have a great work out!

Yes, both are endurance workouts. A lot of ladies have made a distinction between LL and L&G as LL being tougher and L&G being more fun. I think that's a pretty accurate review.

Between the two, I reach for LL more often because it is a very mean, thorough workout that I can do in less time, and I need only a few pieces of equipment for the workout.

In Bodymax, Cathe said that if you've never trained before, you can get strength gains from endurance training.

I use Cathe's endurance workouts as strength workouts by choosing two body parts to work on, going as heavy as I can, and resting longer between sets.

I like to do it two ways: strength train one body part a week (divided in 2-3 sessions) and do one endurance workout for my entire body at the end of the week; and alternate a week of strength training with a week of endurance training. It all depends on how much time I have and how motivated I am.
