Question about Barbell Rows in the 4DS

Miss Lee

Cathlete
Cathe, I noticed that your weight load in the BB rows is 62#'s. I'm not there yet, but I'm nipping at your heels :p . My question is this -- how do you add the extra 2 pounds. Are you using fractional plates?

This is how mine works out:

I have a 10# bar, use (2) 10# plates on each side, and (2) 3# plates on each side.

Marcy, I have the Troy Lite system which I love, but it doesn't offer weights in odd sizes. The bar is 5#, and plates come in increments of 2.5#, 5#, 7.5#, and 10#. I've seen something called "fractional plates" but I don't remember where. They were thin metal plates that came in various weights, starting with 1/2# I think. My memory is a little sketchy on that.

I have 1.25# Troy Lite plates, but I don't think they make them anymore. Other manufacturers might.

I just used a 65# bar for these.

RE: FIRM barbell owners...

I've got the old Firm barbell, too. Love those little weights. Let's you bounce up just a touch when you need to. I also really like the fact that it's shorter than other barbells, which makes it a little easier to handle (and store) and I like the padding on it. It only goes to 40# total, but for now, that's sufficient.
