RE: the premixes: what is the reason for a pyramid down only? When I don't want to do the whole PUB or PLB, I always choose the Pyramid UP only because it seems the logical sequence: lower weight to higher weight. But there must be some reasoning behind going from the higher weight to the lower one. Does anyone know what it is?
 
I know that when I pyramid down only I am able to significantly increase the weight of my heaviest weight because I am "fresh" when doing the heaviest set. This allows the pyramids to become more of a strength workout and less of and endurance workout.
