Pyramids or SH?

I can't decide which one of these to get next. I do them both from Fit Tv right now, but want the full DVDs. I currently have all of the GS, plus PS. I like SH because I feel that my form really improves when I use it (don't like it or use it for legs), but I'm not really looking for more muscle growth at this point--more definition. On the other hand, I'm not really sure how I would use the Pyramids in a rotation--my rotations are rather informal--I just use one of my DVDs for a few weeks until it feels too easy, then switch to something new.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Hi Bunbun,
I love both of these sets, so I can't really say which would be best for you. Why don't you tell us what your goals are and then we can better help you to decide. Also, you might checkout Cathe's indexed rotations on the rotation section of the forums to see some ways that Cathe has fit them into rotations for some ideas on how they might best fit into how you like to schedule your workouts.

Most people on this forum have commented that they've gotten great definition from the Pyramids. It seems to be a favorite around here. As far as I'm concerned, the Pyramids have a huge dread factor for me because I find them too repetitive. I do get great results from them, but I can't stick to a rotation. On the other hand, I love S&H because I like the pace of it, but it's a time hog. IMO, if it's definition you're looking for, go with the Pyramids.

P.S. I prefer the Gym Styles for definition!:7

I am partial to the pyramids, especially upper body. I'm like you in that I don't follow any rotation. I just do what I feel like doing that day especially since my energy level constantly varies. You said you're not interested in more muscle growth. Would you be open to CTX Upper Body? I just did that one today and I think it would be great for maintaining. Just a thought.

P.S. to my above post. I'm not sure about CTX Lower Body because I've never done that so couldn't say if that would be what you're looking for. I'm only familiar with UB. I'm sorry if I got away from what you're looking for.

Thanks Mattea, Leslie and Bam. I don't think that I really have specific goals. I love the definition that I've gotten from GS, and I suppose I want more of that. In fact, I would do GS all the time if I could, but I know that I have to change things up. Not familiar with the CTX workout--will have to check that out. My reservation with getting the Pyramids is that I do 1-2 body parts a night now, and the Pyramids aren't set up that way, so I'm not sure how I'd use that DVD. With SH I don't want to bulk up any more than I have at the moment.
