Pyramid Upper and Lower Body

I'm not sure if this was already posted but I'm wondering if anyone has ever done Pyramid Upper and Lower Body both twice a week and then tacked on a muscle endurance workout at the end of the week. If so did you feel as though this were overkill. I want to be sure not to overtax the muscles and I just started this workout. I also fit in about 3-4 days of cardio. Thanks

Hi,

I did this when I did a six-week weights-only rotation (no cardio at all). I did PUB and PLB twice each week, then Muscle Endurance or a similar workout once a week. I didn't feel overtaxed and made great strength gains. I was also eating REALLY clean and eating a lot so I'd build muscle. If I'd been doing cardio with this much focused weight work, that would have been overtraining for me.

Mic this is what iam doing right now too with at least 3 days of treadmill 3 miles or so just started it but Ilove the Pyramids do upper and lower in 1 day so then muscle endurance or power hour the third day I am gonna try to stick w/the rotation which I usually get bored or whatever but maybe this time will be different

I do think it's a lot. I used to do both Pyramids twice a week and cardio twice a week, and that was a very full week. Listen to your body, and when you start feeling fatigue, or when you find you're not lifting as heavy and as well as you normally do, then cut back.

Are you trying to build muscle? If so, I suggest doing half the cardio and making sure you eat enough to fuel your workouts and help your body recover between sessions.

Thanks everyone for your advice. You know I'am interested in building muscle. Ofcourse the trick is not to add on fat at the same time. Does everyone increase their caloric intake when trying to increase muscle? I was reading Cathe's information after having her last baby and I wonder if she had to cut calories because if you look at her, there was no lack of muscle? Some people say you should concentrate on one or the other. Has anyone actually gained a larger muscle and still kept the fat off. Those of us who aren't professional bodybuilders?

I'm glad I saw this thread. I was just aboout to ask the same question.
I'm thinking of doing the pyramids a couple times a week for a little while to make some good muscle.
